Ha! While Lloyd Webber isn't gay himself, his musical theatre talent contests are some of the campest shows on television. He's the only straight man on this year's programme.

I saw an advert for a comedy show about the upcoming election this week, which said "The election is basically eurovision for straight people". Obviously, not everyone who likes eurovision over here is gay - I'm not - but the fact I have to specifically state that speaks volumes.

I don't think the gay thing really stops people from entering, though. No one thinks Eurovision's gay following reflects in any way on the artists involved.

2nd place would be fine. We can always blame Eastern European bloc voting for that. If we come outside the top 20, that's a disaster.

Why are people suggesting major artists? This is pie-in-the-sky thinking! Established artists in Britain won't even touch Eurovision.

UK..no famous singers or band or songwriter please...

Pick a girl/guy on the street, record a proper song and guess what, you may have a shot in 2011!

They need to start allowing foreign songwriters for one thing, they need to ditch the hideous "camp appeal" as it's seriously dated and not everything in ESC is gay orientated nowadays and they need to get A GOOD SONG!!!!!!!!

That is it, that's all we need to do and we're in with a shot.

I say we should follow Germanys example for next year.
