The FSC Promotions Thread is a forum-thread where the FSC-juries can promote their entries (post pictures/song lyrics/info on artist/group etc) each FSC-month.
It makes it easier for everyone to go to one place in the FSC Forum and find the promotions here, instead of having to go to every single jury-thread and check there.
This is how it works:
1. The FSC juries may promote their FSC-entries in this thread. NB! This can only be done once the FSC-edition has officially been started.
2. It is voluntary to post promotions in this thread. Of course every jury can post their promotion in their own jury-thread also, this is an extra feature.
3. This FSC Promotions Thread is for entry-promotions only, no discussions/talk/comments must be posted here (that is to be done in the other FSC forum-threads).

Representing Norway in FSC January 2010 is one of Norway’s most talented female Electro-pop artists, Annie with a catchy Electro-pop song called “Don’t Stop”. This is one of three new and previously unreleased tracks that were added to her “Don’t Stop”-album for the album’s official release in October 2009. The album - in an earlier incarnation - was promoted in 2008 and songs leaked onto the internet though the album saw no official release at that time. Annie parted company with her record label and took the master-tapes with her. And in the autumn of 2009 she finally released the album and included the new song “Don’t Stop” - our entry for Norway here in FSC January - and two others. The album (which included popular singles such as “Songs Remind Me Of You” and “My Love Is Better”) received critical acclaim and re-established her as one of Norway’s most innovative and colourful Electro-pop artists.
Annie, or Anne Lilia Berge Strand as is her real name, was born on 21st November 1977. She is a Norwegian Electro-pop artist and DJ from Bergen, Norway. After completing secondary school, Annie started DJing in Bergen, where she met house-producer and future boyfriend Tore Kroknes. In 1999, Annie and Kroknes released the single "The Greatest Hit", which became popular in Norwegian and British underground nightclubs. Before Annie and Kroknes could release an album, Kroknes tragically died from a congenital heart defect in 2001. She returned to recording later that year, collaborating with Richard X, Röyksopp, and Timo Kaukolampi. Annie's DJing experiences taught her about sound and production and had an impact on her music. Annie went on to sign a record deal with UK ”679 Recordings” in 2003, releasing her debut album ”Anniemal” in 2004, an innovative and catchy Electro-pop album (with influences also from disco, hip hop, bubblegum pop, 80s-music, dance-pop as well as R&B) for which she received widespread critical acclaim and several Norwegian music awards. The album included her club-and-radio-hits ”Chewing Gum” and ”Heartbeat”.
In 2005 Annie released a DJ Mix Album as part of !K7’s DJ-Kicks series and then in 2007 she signed a record deal with UK’s Island Records. She started work on the ”Don’t Stop”-album, an album which was to be preceeded by the single ”I Know UR Girlfriend Hates Me”. For many reasons (among them the moderate success of the single and differences of opinion as to the way forwards) the album was delayed several times and as mentioned before Annie finally parted company with Island Records and went on to release the album - including some new tracks - in the autumn of 2009 on an independent record label called Smalltown Supersound.
Annie has been praised for her unique "indie" style of Electro-pop and Synth-pop music and has by some been described as "a pop singer with credibility, an indie artist with one eye on the dancefloor". Annie herself describes her music as "pop with strange edges” and is without a doubt a talented, innovative and colourful Norwegian music artist with an attitude and a fresh perspective from whom we will undoubtedly hear more in the future.
Our entry for FSC January is alas a new catchy Norwegian Electro-pop song in her distinct style performed by the talented young artist Annie.

Silbermond - Krieger des Lichts
After a short break Germany returns to the FSC with one of it's most successful bands of the last decade.
Silbermond's band members originally met in 1998 in Bautzen, Saxony when they participated in the music project Ten Sing. Two years later, they decided to form their own group, and as a result they began performing locally under the name Jast (composed by the initial letters of the band members Johannes, Andreas, Stefanie and Thomas). In 2001, they changed their name to Silbermond, simultaneously concentrating on songs in German language for the first time.
In January 2004 the group got the chance to perform as opening act for singer Jeanette Biedermann. Afterwards they released their first single "Mach's Dir Selbst", followed-up by their debut album Verschwende deine Zeit, which was eventually certified double platinum in Germany and Austria and spawned three further singles, including top 5 hit "Symphonie".
In April 2006, Silbermond released their second album Laut Gedacht. The album debuted at #1 on the German and Austrian album charts and spawned another top 10 hit with its lead single "Unendlich". While the album's second single, "Meer Sein" failed to enter the top 30, its third single, "Das Beste", released in October 2006, became the group's first number one single.
Their third Album Nichts Passiert was released on 20 March 2009. It debuted at #1 on both the German, the Swiss and the Austrian album charts. The first single "Irgendwas bleibt" also became a #1 hit, whereas their second single "Ich bereue nichts" only made it into the top 20.
The third single from the Album "Krieger des Lichts" refers to the book "The Manual of the Warrior of Light" written by the famous Brazilian author Paulo Coelho and is another Top 10 hit for the band.

Krista debuted on Bulgaria's musical scene in 2008 with her massive hit - Tova, koeto iskash (That, which you want), just after she finishes the National Music Academy, Pop and Jazz singing section, with excellent grades. A few months before that she wins a contest for vocal artists in February, competing with 180 finalists. "Tova, koeto iskash" quickly gains admiration from both musical critics and audience, but not only in Bulgaria. MTV shows her video 6 times on World Chart Express, beginning with 2nd place in their top 10 chart. The song also brings her a nomination from BG Radio in the category "Best debut for 2008" (not a very challenging one, since they don't include chalga singers in these nominations). Krista also wins the special Debut Award from the contest "Golden spring", organized by BNR (Bulgarian National Radio). "Imam" (I have) is the new single by Krista. Authors are B.O.Y.A.N. and Magga (Yes, the same, who did Desi's song from FSC December). Right now Krista is working on her first solo album, which will be released in the beginning of 2010. Musical producer is B.O.Y.A.N, and special names from the bulgarian non-chalga music scene, which also have a part in it are Magga, Lubo (the ex-lead vocal of "Te"), Beloslava (you might see her in OSC, although she's relatively young, LOL), Mariq Ilieva and others.
There isn't much gossip about Krista, since she's new, not that famous and not that scandalous. The only gossip about her is being close friend to Mariq Ilieva (big pop-star), who has been protecting and helping her ever since the start of her career and that actually Mariq Ilieva's protection enabled Krista to become such a star and have so many investments in her. That's perfectly believable, since we know everything is about connections in any business, and since with that chalga look and voice Krista wouldn't manage to deal with the resistance from the music guild they normally provide for everyone and rise to this rank. Not that I mind of course
