I am currently (re)studying law (civil procedure and criminal procedure) too, for my entrance exam at uni for Master's Degree. I literally cannot wait for it to be over to take a month long break
All my respect for lawyers for having learnt administrative law XDD the complicated language they use, there being always exceptions in every article, a thousand deadlines to remember… ugh…

I think you would have been a good historian History is like remembering a story but with more details, and being able to make a relation between a historical source (a text, an object, etc.) and what you’ve been “told”, and make your own conclusions out of the comparison. It’s an amazing thing to study, what a shame people don’t care about it because it doesn’t make money.

Good luck in your exam! I will also take a very long break after the examinations there is even a game about hominid's evolution, called Ancestors, that I definitely want to play once everything is done XD.
Btw, we don't do any exam to study a Master's Degree we use the global grade of your degree to make the selection.

OMG I KNOW. Exceptions are the bane of my existence. Everything is fine and dandy, the rule or principle is very clear, then... NO! FUCK YOU, WE HAVE 50 EXCEPTIONS AND SOME ARE REALLY RIDICULOUS. Deadlines are also annoying, i tried to find a logic to them but they are just random.

Yes I would've loved to study History but sadly I went to the wrong high-school specialisation (15 years old me was into web design and programming, oh how wrong that turned out to be) and I didn't had too many history classes. I mostly learned it thanks to the internet. Plus, history here is way too much focused on national events and I was more of a European History kind of guy.

We have entrance exams usually when there are more people that apply to the Master's Degree specialisation than the number allocated (I think it's 50 spots this year?). Luckily, if only 49 bitches think to apply, I am free of this wretched oral exam. The global grade is only used to decide the 50th spot -.-

Good luck to you too with studying and the examinations Will it be multiple choice or oral?

Thank you! Actually I don't know. Well, I know two of them are just to write everything I know about X topic, and with the other they didn't say what kind of exam it will be. It won't be oral, for sure, but I don't know if it will be writing too, or multiple choice. These are only the exams of "knowledge", then I'll do 3 more exams where I have to say what I would do in certain cases. For example, they usually ask you to plan activities for the library during the summer, or for children, or to promote reading. I'll also have to do a psychometric test, and finally some interviews

    Re: How do you feel?

    Such an educated forum.

I'm a freshman at UvA this year in computer science, I should have started earlier but I took gap year to the next level lmao and made it 2-3 yrs. Whenever I go to school though I usually have straight A's, always wanted to try Oxford but money is a huge issue ofc, maybe I'll try to do masters there. I am aware of how hard getting in is, always set your goals high though xblowkiss

People that have the patience for PhD have my respect! Not sure if I'll ever try it but it sure is an epic title.

Good luck to y'all as well : )

    Re: How do you feel?

I wanted to do my masters in UvA (it was the main reason i started dutch!), but money was a HUGE issue, considering i'm not european and not from a dutch colony.

So if I'm gonna do my masters anywhere other than here, I'll probably go to Portugal because 1. I don't have to spend that much money 2. I won't have a language barrier 3. I have friends who live there 4. I can work as a researcher there without getting worried as I would be here.

Yes, UvA + living in Amsterdam is not cheap at all. It only works for me since I'm considered a local, but it's a loan from the government essentially and I'll be in great debt
    But its a great school.

Good luck with your journey Portugal seems like an amazing destination as well indeed! Don't ever change your dialect btw if you do go study there! Brazillian Portuguese>>ur favorite languages
