Mathematically, such a thing could happen quite easily. Or something like a winning song that was second with the juries but 6th with the televote. This year's results certainly go in that direction.

Furthemore, I still don't see any reason why 5 people from my country should have the same say as our entire paying televote, especially when these people are not guaranteed to have any relevant musical experience whatsoever and they apparently can't even correctly fill their results in *. To me, all these things are a problem.

Either the jury should consist of 3-4 times more (musically knowledgeable) people, or they should only count as a 25%/33% of the final result (my favourite option), or they should just go altogether. The current situation is absolutely ridiculous though.

    * also, the Czech jury isn't the only jury who made such a mistake

Of course, it could happen but it's very unlikely and mathematically, I wouldn't say this situation could "quite easily" happen. I wouldn't mind if they change how the juries work, the only thing I want to keep is their existence. I don't want to see only juries or televote decide the winner.

Whether it's Rotterdam or Maastricht, ESC 2020 will happen. However, I do think characteristics of performers we'll get will be an interesting topic to predict.

As stereotypical as this is gonna be, Rotterdam's Ahoy would have a chance to attract bigger names and conceive tighter-looking show, like the usual Eurovision in big arenas.

It's more interesting to see what kinds of act would be invested onto Maastricht. There can be a shift towards either a cast of indie/underground artists, or maybe having a more ethnic/cultural cast, perhaps?

^ With "Amar Pelos Dois" being 2nd best percentage from both jury and televote, then it must be seen as one of the grand winners of the contest ever. Absolutely amazing in my opinion!

Re: EUROVISION 2020 - General Discussion Thread

As much as I despise Amar Pelos Dois, I must recognize it's a deserving entry that amost everyone agreed on.
Interesting, but not surprising, to see 2011's winner is the only one which doesn't appear in neither side of the table.

Let's see how each year is represented.

So, for the jury we have :
    2019 :
    2018 :
    2017 :
    2016 :
    2015 :
    2014 :
    2013 :
    2012 :
    2011 :

    2010 : 0

    And the TV voting :
    2019 :
    2018 :
    2017 :
    2016 :
    2015 :
    2014 :
    2013 :
    2012 :

    2011 : 0
    2010 :

    2010-2013 aren't really loved...

Sweden made the jury list six times and reached the televote one only twice. Totally not overrated for what they are, y'all.

It's not the song that matters, but what you do with it.

    Sweden got often 90-230 Points.
Also they focus more on the professional Juries, which is not forbidden.

    Eurovision 2020 in Rotterdam!

It appears on eurovision.tv on the page dedicated to the Netherlands. It seems that they leaked that info by accident. Scroll to Hosts!
