    OMG the struggle was even more real than I imagined it would be

    Slovenian juries brought this on themselves though, same with the Spanish ones: what goes around comes around. Hopefully, they'll think twice next year before sending anyone.

    2 NQ for Nomar,
    and also 3 more times that didn't manage to represent Slovenia.
    I think it's time to..

    I think "Stop" failing to qualify was a disgrace, and somehow I understand he might have wanted to take revenge, but he hasn't really offered anything as good as his first effort since then.

    As I said countless times, Slovenians need to work extra hard to do relatively well: just "decent" songs and skillful singers aren't sufficient to guarantee a qualification. They have the chance to have a pool of young talented people, which isn't always self-evident for small nations, so RTVSLO has to seriously consider supporting bolder musical works rather than vocals or names only.

    As juries seem to always have the final word in EMA, if they are to manipulate the results to their liking, then they could at least do it for an act with big potential.

    Is it true that Omar is a convicted sex offender? Cause someone said that the person that wrote that on Wikipedia's page had mistranslated a Slovene newspaper article wrong.

    'Wanted' truly deserved to make it through back in 2005, though 'On My Way' didn't, as this song was way weaker than his previous entry.

    By the way, RTVSLO should really remove the jury panel and only set the televoting with 100% instead of 50%/50%. Indeed, the juries can either vote for their favourite entry or give the winning song with the televoting no points or the least ones. That's why BQL didn't win, even if they scored twice as many points as Omar in the televoting.

    It seems that they're yet to figure out what 'art' and its concept does refer to.
    @tuorem: What an offence, right?

    I was surprised by the general negative feedback of their members (after praising the snippet, William changed his opinion after listening to the whole thing). But then again, it seems that the people who liked it the most couldn't share their reviews, hence why the ones who were shortlisted to give their opinions did "stand out". It's interesting because - as a huge fan of the song - I do agree with the fact that it could (not should) have been even better crafted than it is: more harp throughout the verses, a more lyrically-filled bridge, vocal variations during the last chorus... there is almost always room for improvement in songs. However, I think their marks were really severe. And then, they all raved about "Heart Of Gold"... which imho wasn't the Holy Grail in terms of composition either.

    Actually, their reaction is in line with their reputation as they often tend to favour schlagers and "boom boom" acts over anything else. Zažarim obviously didn't fit that category, it was slow - maybe too slow and uneventful for them - but it was meant to be like that. While EMA 2017 lineup was quite diverse and nice overall, Raiven was the only stand out for me.
