India has retained most of its native culture and heritage, and was never truly colonized, rather it was occupied.
The native people of India still live there, and have been doing so for thousands of years.
Compare that to Australia, USA, Canada, Brazil...
Those nations are quite young and most of its citizens have foreign (as in non-indigenous) roots. Few Americans (the continent!) are Native Americans, like few Australians are Aboriginals. Indians are still the same group of people and have resisted foreign dominance of their own culture.

So, JESC, ESC, AND Asiavision? That is a lot on their plate.

That being said, it'll be interesting to see whom they send and if they choose a ballad again since it almost garnered them a win this year.

    Let's hope

But I'm pretty sure they'll still be in It's EBU's new sweetheart afterall, bend and break every previous rule and promise made just for them, then we'll see another jury push and good draws... *yawn*

Please send Flume and I promise I'll be dedicating myself to explain every single human being on the planet why Australia is in ESC.

    Re: AUSTRALIA 2017

I don't mind Australia being with us in the contest but it bothered me this year to see them take the place of Macedonia in the final. I'm trying to think whether it's my bias showing through as I adore Kaliopi and really didn't like the (in my opinion) cold and soulless ballad Australia sent. It just didn't feel right that this non-European country that was only supposed to be with us for one edition had taken the place of a struggling ESC country and underdog in the final. Yes, they earned it but it still didn't sit right with me. I suppose i'd prefer it if Australia were made a part of the big group of countries automatically in the final if they're staying.

Anyway, putting that to one side, I hope for something cool and a little bit trippy from Australia next year. You've got some of the best psychedelic bands in the world. Two ultra commercial entries now and I would hope it's time for something different. Mix it up. If you keep sending talent show artists i'm not going to be such a happy bunny that you're competing.

    Re: AUSTRALIA 2017

If Australia does take part in both Asiavision and Eurovision, could/would they submit the same song? Since the Asian edition is planned for March (or so I've heard) it would save a lot of time and effort to come up with one since and performance instead of two.
