I love the show but I must mention something about one of the entries. Please do correct me if I am mistaken, but the main artist of the song of Luzinia is in fact Polish? From what I understood of the rules, surely this is not eligible?

I think it's the producer, but @ClassifiedCat claimed it really doesn't matter since he's more of a producer, than providing vocals to the track.

As a host, it is your role to ensure every entry is eligible. The fundamental rule of this spinoff is that the 'language of the song must be different to the native language of the artist, and also cannot be English'. But, the main artist (whether you consider them a producer or not) is Polish, and the language of the song is Polish. On this basis, @ClassifiedCat should change their entry for one that satisfies the conditions of the spinoff or withdraw their submission.

But that doesn't change the fact the song is by felicitas, an artist of Polish nationality and ethnicity. I don't understand the point that you're making, your interpretation and comprehension of your native language is not representative for all its speakers. Your argument is flawed - if the idea of the spinoff is to 'is to hear people singing in languages they can't speak fluently', then why has, for example, QuiénDQ, sent ZOË, an Austrian artist who speaks perfectly fluent French?

Oh, about my entry: 3YE is a South Korean girlgroup who is known for some of their covers, especially because they sing in the original language of the song (which has varied from spanish to arabic to thai etc). I sent them many editions ago in WV with a cover of Dilbar. It's still my favorite cover of theirs, but I didn't want to repeat the same song from WV, so I picked a cover of this song instead. Hope you enjoy it!

I agree with Orian Technically it's against the rules since the producer is one of the listed artists on the track, but producers are a weird case that I feel we can make an exception for.

It's not against the spirit of the contest, for the reasons Orian already stated, and it's good to err on the side of inclusivity with these things.

EDIT: Also, Vaso clearly already knew about this in advance and made a judgement call, so I think we should respect the host's decision to allow the entry.

Yapo’s entry is in the conlang Esperanto, a language designed on purpose to be a “universally understandable” mix of European languages.
