I don't think there is any chance that Laika Party gets a staging on the Level of Doomsday Blue.

Regarding the Q chances, it's not DOA but IMO it's chances are slim. There are a few sure Qs (Austria, Israel, Finland) and some very likely ones (Australia, Malta, Greece, Lithuania, Czechia, Luxembourg). The similarity to Luxembourg, with that just being flat out better, having a better RO and most likely getting better staging, it's still Laika Partys biggest issue. And I actually feel like Serbia had a rather good shot with it's great RO, and Balkan ballads really have their audience. I guess the last Spot it's between Serbia, Latvia and maybe Montenegro.

Agree with all this. I also wouldn't rule out Armenia qualifying in the last spot. It's not one of the best Armenian entries but he's a good looking guy with a catchy song, and maybe some diaspora voting here.

Georgia probably out. Denmark needs a big upgrade on the NF performance to qualify and Sissal seems like she'll work really hard to deliver it but for now I have Denmark as NQ.

There is no world where Luxembourg is a “likely” qualifier, it’s funny you say Luxembourg is “flat out better” because Ireland is pretty much outperforming Luxembourg in most stats (I.e streams, views, popularity on polls etc). I think the word you are looking for is Luxembourg is more inoffensive but less votable, I think the polls on ESCunited sort of sums it up with Ireland have 21 12’s (15.7% of the vote) compared to Luxembourg’ 10 (8.8% of the vote).

They really don’t, it’s basically going to get an Inje (Montenegro 2018) sort of result. It’ll get a respectable score from its audience and next to nothing from anywhere else and finish 12-13th in the SF. Honestly, the RO is the only thing that saves it from being a DOA.

Nope, the last spot will likely be between
Denmark & Luxembourg at this stage, the two inoffensive songs that were lucky to secure 2nd half draws & Serbia throwing in the towel.

Yes, and Armenia had the advantage of being somewhat rock-adjacent, and we do not have much Rock this year (Lithuania obviously, but they are much more moody to Pargs straight up Stadium Rock).

Hallucination is so lame, but I've come to love Sissal and her voice is so awesome. I agree her chance is slim, but I'm actually keeping my fingers crossed for her.

@Cathan I do not like Luxembourgs entry at all and would be perfectly fine with it NQing, but it's just much better received in pretty much every circle I run around in. And I do think it is verzerrt done production-wise, and can bank somewhat on the female empowerment message (if they improve the staging). I have also not seen a single poll were Ireland beats Luxembourg, though I think in most cases it does not matter that much, since neither are doing great (the Eurovisionworld poll being an example). The main reason that I think Luxembourg will outperform Ireland is that I expect the performance to be much better, especially as RTL seems a lot more invested. And Dietmann is not a great fit for a song like Laika Party. I did flat out not check the streams though, I give you that.

The issue though is from that circle who has loved Luxembourg to the point they would vote for it? All you've done is proven my point. Luxembourg is is more inoffensive so less people are going to rank it really low, that helps it a lot is fan polls but its useless when it comes to televoting.

No offence but a lot of your predictions and justifications seem incredibly subjective, using a subjective view to make an objective prediction is a recipe for disaster.

I think Luxembourg could benefit from both an older generation and a child vote. It's certainly one of my mum's favourites in the semi and my little cousins love it too. I feel it will also have every advantage it can over ireland because its later on, Luxembourg (probably) have a bigger budget and I believe their staging is being done by Ukrainans and we know how good they are at staging. Much better than dietmann

I suspect that answer was directed at me? Some of the people in those circles will vote for Luxembourg, yes, though of course not all of them.
And i am not sure what you mean with the Fan polls her? That goes for the Scoreboard App, but the poll on EurovisionWorld is voting for your winner only. And Luxembourg is beating Ireland there.

Obviously my predictions are subjective. But so are yours, and everyone's, because it's impossible to be completely objective. But even trying to be as objective as possible, Irelands chances are slim IMO.

I think Luxembourg also has a better gimmick than Ireland with the story of the doll - assuming that it's portrayed properly on stage.

The dog and space theme of Ireland's song, in fairness, has potential to be fun too. I'm very interested to see what they do with it. So far it's been graphics of dogs and spaceships on the LED, and the tinfoil spacesuits. I'm expecting that we'll see something better in Basel, something that fills the stage. They need something memorable because as I see it now, we're at serious risk of NQing.

Today it was :ie: turn at the ESC kompakt songchecks 2025.

The verdict of the bloggers:

Douze Points - Fun, fun, and more fun! I love this simple, bubblegum pop. You have to love Emmy's voice. But the combination of the music and the somewhat far-fetched wordplay "Laika-Party-Like a Party" really grabs me and leaves me with a smile on my face. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is enough to make it to the finals. We need more Emmys—and Laikas! :10:

Manu - I have no idea what possessed the Irish to choose such a plasticky pop number after their positive experience with Bambie Thug this year. Emmy's delicate, high-pitched voice is unusual, but it annoys me even when she's just speaking. For me, the song is beyond insignificant; it doesn't appeal to my sense of humor, nor does it reflect what I'm looking for musically. Unfortunately, I can't find "Laika Party" particularly appealing and wish it weren't performed at the Eurovision Song Contest, but rather unheard in outer space. Then, please, I'd rather have the original by The Hungry Hearts from the 2016 Norwegian preliminary round. :1:

Max - Simply a guilty pleasure. It could have been on the Smurfs CD and no one would have noticed. The lyrics, even though I understand they're well-intentioned, aren't that neat. Opinions will probably be divided forever on this one. I'd be very surprised if they made it to the finals, but see you on the dance floor when this is played! :6:

Peter - No no no no (etc.), there's no limit. 2 Unlimited Early 90s vibes from Ireland. Activating and stimulating, but at the end of the day, more like second-tier music, if that. On the other hand: every generation needs songs that are a hit in the Euroclub. I lost my heart to a starship trooper. :7:

Rick - I'm torn here: I like the song's subject matter because it transforms the otherwise sad story into something positive, and dogs always make me excited. I also can't deny that "Laika Party" is super catchy and, thanks to its '90s sound, somewhat trendy, but EMMY's childish charisma just annoys me. It's missing a touch of seriousness—middle of the road for me. :5:

The points of the other bloggers:

Benny - :6: Berenike - :4: Chris - :7: Danio - :3: Laureen - :3: Giulia - :8:
