The verdict of the bloggers:
Benny - I can't get into this entry. Mariam's voice is extremely strong, but that's about it. The song completely lacks structure and a good chorus. I don't know what it's actually trying to be. A Bond ballad, perhaps? It's a shame, a lot of potential was wasted here.
Berenike - I really like the melody, which isn't typically continental European, but very typically Georgian. Similar melodies have been successful at the JESC many times. The choir is also interesting, with its mix of very different vocal ranges. However, I don't believe that Mariam really means and feels what she's singing.
Douze Points - I like how Georgia is going its own way at the Eurovision Song Contest and not being guided by trends or supposed formulas for success. Mariam Shengelia is also a gifted singer. Unfortunately, "Freedom" is too much of a musical jumble, making it unnecessarily difficult to access the song and thus moves reaching the final far away.
Giulia - For me, it falls into the same category as Montenegro: Emotive, melancholic, but dull. I do think the parts with the mystical voices in the background are cool though.
Manu - "Freedom" begins with a thrilling start, the first verse, carried by various vocal sounds, makes me sit up and listen with fascination. And then... comes the chorus. Oh my goodness, who on earth did that? The incoming beat sounds like the song is still in a demo version, and suddenly the song sounds like a 0-point Eurovision disaster from the 90s. I'm sorry:
