So apparently EBU asked Erika to make changes to her stage performance at the contest.

The ongoing trend of the EBU being absolute sexist prudes continues, I see.

I'm sorry but one of the guys from Wondows95Man last year literally had his balls out at some point. Embarrassing.

I can kind of get why Erika gets "censored" where Windows95Man and Chanel were not. It's the Outfit in combination with the lyrics, and the fact that her movements are more suggestive.

But.... that does not mean I agree with it. The line is thin and somewhat superficial, and definitely unneccessary.

At least, it does Sound like minor changes that will not harm Erika all that much.

I read that the EBU asked Erika to alter/change her outfit for Eurovision which isn't the same as the one she was wearing in UMK.
Maybe it's just a tiny change like Germany 2009? The EBU made Dita wear a tiny bra. It wasn't something to feel angry about/get mad at.

Also, the EBU might be more aware of such things after 2024? I mean, we got a very tasteless British performance, and a Finnish scrotum.

I mean, they have to draw the line somewhere and it's easy for us fans to bash EBU for their guidelines but we haven't seen Erika's outfit for ESC yet.

EBU don't want to get close a Windows95man exposed testicle gate again which is why they changed their rules and regulations wer changed to be stricter.

That's not being a prude when the EBU market itself as a family show and even have a specific show on the morning of the final titled that. I doubt it will be a major change anyway.

In much the same way that I bet dollars to donuts the BBC were not single-handedly responsible for DoReMiFaSSServingCan’tGate, I would be very surprised if the most substantive of the changes was something other than “hey, soz, our liability lawyers will not let you get up on that swinging microphone truss.” Maybe a couple poses here and there. It’s a weirdly restrained performance from a sexual content standpoint, looking back on it.

I see people complaining that in the past we had sexual undertones in performances but I really think that they (BBC/EBU) got a lot of backlash after Olly last year so they're trying to draw a line somewhere especially since they stated that they wanted to be "family friendly".

I'm not against drawing lines but it seems to be made in a rush: why are the ich komme and kant NF performances in the EBU channel is there is an issue? It looks like they are trying to adjust things afterwards instead of having a clear rule from the start.

Things are getting... interesting. Yle now confirms that there was no such request by the EBU and they "cannot comment on Erika's statement".

Yle’s Eurovision main producer: Erika Vikman’s performance has not been changed at the request of the EBU

The issue came to light when Erika Vikman spoke to the Swedish newspaper Expressen about the change requests from the EBU.

According to Yle’s Eurovision main producer Anssi Autio, Finland’s representative Erika Vikman’s performance has not been changed due to the European Broadcasting Union’s (EBU) demands.

The issue became public when Vikman told the Swedish newspaper Expressen that the EBU believed the performance was too "sexual" and changes were needed, including to the costume and the song’s message.

– We have to follow their rules and change my outfit. They want to cover my backside, Vikman said in the interview.

Anssi Autio says he cannot comment on Vikman’s statements. However, he confirms that there have been discussions with the EBU, but no direct demands have been made.

According to Autio, everything should be in order regarding the matter.

Uhm.

The broadcasters main Producer downright disagreeing with their artist feels pretty wild.

The nice interpretion is that some stuff was lost in Translation, but Erika directly shared that Expressen article, so I doubt she was misquoted there. It does overall not make Erika look good... hopefully we will get an explanation.

I want Eurovision to stay family friendly, so support the staging being changed. I agree it should be the same for both genders, but both should dress appropriately when kids are watching.

The Finnish delegation denies the rumours/what Erika brought up:

Anssi Autio of Yle has confirmed that the European Broadcasting Union has not requested that Erika Vikman’s performance be changed for the Eurovision Song Contest. The comments come after Erika Vikman, the Finnish representative, told the Swedish outlet Expressen that:
