I gotta come to Andreas defence...
Don't think he deserved this hatred. He can't stand this media pressure and attention due to mental lacks. It's really a handicap and it's not easy to get rid of it.
It's especially sad for him because I think music is his life. If music is your life and you are talented you want to make the most of it. You want to share your music with other people and playing music is passion for yourself. If you get the chance to take part on ESC to become more famous and maybe fans all over Europe it's a huge temptation. I think Andreas had an inner conflict: The passion against his mental ability
Maybe he wanted to challenge himself, proving himself that he is able to get along with it. In addition the management might play a role... maybe there were lots of people who encouraged him, who convionced him to make the decision to take part in the NF. He underrated the attention the whole things around him which entails such a show, all this he obviously blinded out when he made his decision. However during the show he simply got overchallenged and he noticed: That's too much for me
I think somehow despite our disappointment we are supposed to respect that
We are humans, not robots

Ah ok - don't get me wrong but are you his psychologist ? I don't want to offend you but for me this smells like a PR-thing arranged by him and his management and yes I'am pissed as hell.
I find it more concerning that people seem to hate on Ann-Sophie now although she is the last one that could be accused of anything.

I don't want to be in Ann's place though, I don't know what she said as I don't understand German but her situation is a bit weird, and the audience booed her

She could at least refuse to take the trophy in such a weird way. NDR would have been forced to re-do the superfinal. But I guess she was scared that she'll lose to somebody else xshrug

Couldn't imagine this would be a Pr-stunt. What better publicity would it be to actually go to Vienna and who nows, maybe even do well or win?
I for one am extremely dissapointed, because I loved heart of stone and it would bring something new to the contests. I might even rate it the best song so far (batteling with :ee:)

Ann Sophie songs is kind of boring, middle of the road song this year's Eurovision has way to much from. But I can't hate her....she didn't ask for this and she seems like a very nice and polite person so I wish her all the best. She didn't ask for this, it was Andreas who put her in that awkward situation, which I believed she handled pretty well.

As for Andreas..........why?................I cry everytim xcry1

No, I'm not but if you include that he already had problems to deal with the pressure in "The voice" and that he is a shy guy in general, my explanation could make sense
Nobody has to agree with my text but maybe it's better to first contemplate potential reasons before insulting and condemning him

Don't know what's going on and why all the hate towards Ann Sophie, but OMG, I've already played her song a hundred times since I first heard it today and it only happened to me this year with :ee: and maybe :sl: !

Maybe he has mental problems - I don't know about that but if it is like that he should have pulled out earlier. What he did is just disrespectful. Not only towards all the other acts but also to those who voted for him and of course towards Ann-Sophie who will most likely get a shit-storm now. I feel horrible - the expectations were high ... everything could have been fine. I'm ok with the fact that my favorites didn't win (sad-face) but srsly THIS situation is just a mess.

If music is really your life and passion, you first of all don't enter a karaoke contest to become a puppet for a record label. Fair enough, he wants to sing. He also wants attention though. There are thousands and thousands of artists who get by, making respected music, performing without flashing lights and the media in their faces. He wants it otherwise he wouldn't have entered two contests where there literally are millions of eyes on him.

I understand the mental side of it. It's certainly difficult, but he wanted fame, gets it and then discards of it in a way that was incredibly selfish. You enter these singing talent shows (like The Voice, as he did) as you're desperate to be noticed/liked. You enter a Eurovision selection show because you want to sing for your country in front of millions of Europeans. Just what exactly was he thinking? He's playing a game and you just can't do that. It's 2015 now, if anyone doesn't understand how these things work at this stage, I have absolutely no sympathy. I have sympathy and understanding for a lot of things, but in this case, I think it plain sucks what he has done. He messed with a lot of people today. I don't hate him, I don't know him. I hate what he's done though.

He should indeed have pulled out earlier. I guess part of what made him stay was the outlook of his rather slim chances. The polls for him were rather low. And I was a bit surprised about his vocal mistakes in the high notes in the second song. It's possible he half-heartedly tried to "pull out" by a less than perfect performance. It didn't work, obviously.

And if Ann Sophie gets a shitstorm now then those are to blame who shitstorm her. She obviously does not deserve it. And in the end it will matter very little. Most of the voters in May will neither know nor care about this affair. They will only care about the song and her performance.

didn't read the last posts, but I know already, after Germany will finish 20 place or something (which is obvious with this lame song), Germans will complain that it was not the entry they chose, and I totally agree with that! I guess we will have a lot of interesting stuff and complaining going on after that NF haha.

well that's what happens if you don't choose songs like "frozen silence"! Gute Nacht!

I'm still in rage-mode and I don't know what to think, that's probably why I'm not able to formulate anything productive/constructive at this point. Should go to bed...

Frozen silence, cold winds are rising
Earth sleeps soundly covered in snow
White lands reviving, ice flowers thriving
Born again from mother’s hand, children of snow...

xsing xcry1

She made the super final and therefore placed 2nd. The original winner withdrew, and therefore that makes her the winner by default.

Germany should be proud to have such an amazing performer representing them.

Exactly. She is the winner "by default". That's not the way to win is it? Bottom line is that she wasn't the choice of the people. If she was such "an amazing performer" they would have voted for her to win.

But as long as people are happy to bury their heads in the sand over how pathetic this situation is simply because their favourite won, then who am I to say anything? :?
