So just really confessions/unpopular opinions that you might have about the show and things related to it, for example I wish the Eurovision was only every two years, or Euphoria is an awful song and Would You should've won instead.

I'll start:

I really didn't like Anke as a host

I think Molitva won in 2007 just because there wasn't anything else to win. If Oro was the entry of Serbia in 2007, it would win too and much easier, and it would be a much better winner.

Same goes with Azerbaijan 2011. If Drip Drop was the entry of Azerbaijan in 2011, it would win too, and it would be a much better winner again than the one that won.

Here are some opinions I have on each year;

2012 - Italy was the most worthy winner, but Sweden winning was in the best interests of the contest both for taking it into a new direction and PR purposes.

2011 - Germany should have won, the performance was more worthy of winning than Satellite was. United Kingdom didn't deserve the jury votes which I believe were done on purpose by delegations out of fear that Blue would win due to the hype surrounding them. Latvia should have qualified and gained a position in the top 10. 2011 was one of the best years, simply due to the wider range of musical tastes that were represented.

2010 - Lena was the most deserved winner for a long time. Spain benefited from the stage invasion in terms of points. Slovakia was leagues ahead of half the qualifying countries in Semi-Final 1. United Kingdom fully deserved 0 points.

2009 - Ireland and Cyprus should have qualified in Semi-Final 2 over Lithuania and Croatia. Apart from this 2009 was the best year, everyone brought it to the table. Also... I was glad to see the back of Terry Wogan in the UK

2008 - Irelands entry was a statement and I fully applaud them for having the balls to do what the other Western countries failed to do, openly criticise the contests faulty voting system. Armenia should have won.

2007 - Verka Serduchka pretty much did the same as Ireland 2008, but without the purpose or intention and a lot of people voted for that act in protest. Serbia's entry is highly overrated and imo Russia deserved to win.

In general
1. I disliked Norway 2009.
2. Azerbaijan 2011 was overrated as hell!

My least favorite countries in ESC are ::al and ::lt. I never liked any entry of them, the only ok ones were Albania 2008 and Lithuania 1994 and 2010.

Armenia comes close. Apricot Stone saves it from being in the same category with these two.

I miss Andorra. I liked all their entries, especially 2004. Also, Monaco, they had decent songs and also underrated.

My favorite Swedish entry ever (along with Euphoria and Waterloo) is This Is My Life, failing to qualify is still a mystery to me.

I think Bosnia 2011 was OVERRATED! An old man with horrible English accent jumping around the stage but called "masterpiece" by most people. Meh...

Mojot Svet and Rijeka bez imena are both much better than Molitva.

I think Greece & Turkey were highly overrated during the past years.
Greece: In 2007, 2009 and 2010 it didn't deserve to be in top 10, and in 2012 it didn't deserve to qualify at all. :lol:
Turkey: In 2005 and 2006 it got the 13th and 11th place with two horrible songs, in 2007 it got the 4th place with an even more horrible song, and in 2008 they didn't deserve to be in top 10. And of course, being in top 10 in 2012 was just a joke...

One other confession I thought of. I underestimated Greece 2011. When I first heard it I didn't like it, but shortly after I would have been very happy with it winning. I originally gave it a 2 when I was part of the expert panel, but I knew pretty quickly I made a mistake, and would have rated it a 5. It's a song I still listen to today.

I was going to say this, it was the worst contest. Is it a common opinion?

Also:
* I don't have a favourite Eurovision country.
* I occasionally daydream about being on Eurovision and obviously leading the UK to victory. If I hear a great song I will imagine it as a Eurovision song and say yep 12 points.

If anyone would ask me what would be my favourite ESC country in the past 10 years, I would say Greece!
- Before I left Europe, the last telephone vote I gave was for "Shake it" in 2004. :lol: I also asked my cousin in Greece to vote for Tose, the same year. :oops:
- I think "Yassou Maria" by Sarbel is one of the best Greek entries. I still listen to it. :oops:
- I, too, prefer "Live it up" to "We could be the same". I disliked MaNga in 2010, but liked Yuksek Sadakat! :D
- Andorra is my least favourite ESC country (also my least favourite football nation too). Sue me! :lol:
- I disliked Croatia and Sweden in 2010. I was happy when they failed! :mrgreen: :lol: I think the semi2 results in 2010 were the fairest ones ever!! 2004 semi results were very fair as well!
- Cyprus in 2010 deserved a much better placing. And I prefer it over Belgium a lot!
- I was the only person in this forum that wanted "In a moment like this" to win the Danish NF. And so it did!! :lol: Pretty happy they did well!
- Hungary 2008 (Csezy - Candlelight) is the most underrated entry EVEEEEERRR!!!! That song and performance didn't deserve single digit points!!
- Macedonia, Belarus and Ukraine (by the fans) are underrated on ESC!
- I dislike the French entry from 2002. I also dislike Chiara's song in 1998!
- Belgium and Cyprus were underrated in 2000 (even though I think that year was pretty good).
- I loved last year's Lithuanian song. :lol: 8-)
- Albania was underrated in 2005, and so was UK.
- Russia is overrated on ESC (Result-wise, while the Nordic countries - hype-wise :lol:).

"Molitva" had a good PR campaign behind it. And I think it was a really good year (especially good for the Eastern countries :lol:). I loved "Oro" (in fact I think it's the best Serbian entry), but I don't think it would have done as well.

I can agree about 2011. Though, she would have needed a great staging. Not sure if the same staging as in 2010 would have given her a victory in 2011!

And you deserve to be punished for saying that Dino Merlin is an old man that had an overrated song in English! xpoke xshock

- I like Power to all our friends a lot, while Congratulations are ugh to me.
- Even though I love both entries a lot, I still prefer Lara Fabian's Croire to Celine Dion Ne partez pas sans moi in 1988
- I love Yugoslavia 1989, Turkey 1989 and Yugoslavia 1991
- I really like Christer Bjorkman's entry in Malmoe 1992, I dislike this man so much now :lol:
- From 1997 I think Ireland is one of the most overrated songs and [No objectivity ALERT] I think my country deserved TOP5 that year xcry
- Turkey or Italy should've won in 1997, even though Love Shine a Light is really great, I think Dinle and Fiumi Di Parole are epic.
- I love Russia 1997, Bravo! Primadonna, bravo!
- I love Bosnia&Hercegovina 1999 and Belgium 1999
- Poland 2003 is the most confusing me entry ever, I don't know if I love it or hate :lol: A bit from both I guess
- I think Rimi Rimi Ley is fun, French version of it is GREAT and this dislike bar is toooooo full of hatred Gulseren - Rimi Rimi Ley (Turkey 2005) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EvNpNzfFd0)
- I think Ukraine 2009 is one of the worst staging ever considering a no joke song - I even quite liked it (the song)... and then I saw the performance xpuke It's probably most of over the top thing I've seen, but I'm open to suggestions, my memory is sometimes like a cheese, full of holes.
- I think Sweden 2010 was hurt and should qualify... Same as this year Russia, the lyrcics are a let down but I really like the song and I don't think she deserved to be first Swedish act that didn't make to final :/
- I check back from time to time on Poland 2011 to see if Magda was really that horrible to hit rock bottom and every time answer is "no" [again no objectivity alert]
- I think Turkey 2012 is next example of over the top performance, I like presentation video and videoclip looked very nice and I imagined it completly different way. I can't look at it, it spoiled the song for me. Sometimes I heal myself with studio version.
- How much Loreen performance mean to me: I've never actually listened to Euphoria!(like mp3) I always must watch it. Otherwise I don't like the song. I love the song when Loreen does it :lol:
2013
- I love Cezar and his voice, hate the song and performance
- I wish "Hold me" was replaced with Turkish version...
- I so missed the national final "Gravity"...
- but I'm incredibly happy for Zlata! and extra taste to this result is that she beat Mika's result :p Sometimes there is justice. Now Jamala, your turn :D Would be great choice for Ukraine if she let 2011 past her, like Zlata...
- similiar feeling with Eythor... I'm so happy he scored higher than Greta and Jonsi :mrgreen: many of you can guess why xjumplol

Well, I was a bit subjective since they won over Akcent and Lora, who are bigger names in ::ro 8-)

here are some of my confessions :)

here are my confession for the previous years:

1. i really didn't like ::gr in 2005 and i think ::ro should've won that year. ::ba and ::fr should've been in the top 10.
2. ::be 2006 really was nothing special and deserved not to qualify. ::pl, on the other side, had a great song and deserved to qualify.
3. i think ::rs had the best song in 2007 and deserved to win.
4. back in the 2008, i was a huge fan of no angels and was so happy, when they won in the german national selection and i think, they deserved a place in top 15.
5. i really don't understand, how ::ru won in 2008. 'never let you go' is way better than 'believe'.
6. i really didn't like the stage in 2009. it was just too big. and beacuse ot that the contestants looked so small (like ants) while performing.
7. ::cy 2010 was so underrated and deserved a higher place. before 'crisalide' this was my favourite ESC song. also, ::hr should've qualify instead of ::ie.
8. i really liked the 2011 contest. loved the songs, the stage and the hosts, especially anke xlove
9. ::tr 2011 was in my top 10 that year and i really don't understand, why so many people dislike the song.
10. i absolutely hated ::sl dress in 2012. eva was 16, but she was dressed like grandmother. even grandmothers are better dressed.
11. i think ::hr should've qualified last year. 'nebo' is a great song and i still listen to it.
12. i think 'euphoria' is nothing special.
13. ::mk should've won last year. i loved the song and the performance

and here are my confessions for this year:

1. i find it weird that all of the ex ::yu countries failed to qualify this year.
2. i liked all of petra's dresses this year
3. i think ::sm should've qualify both in 2012 and 2013 :)
4. 'crisalide' is my favourite song EVER and i don't think any other song will change that xheart xheart xheart xheart
5. eythor from ::is reminds me of legolas from LOTR. and i love legolas xlove
6. when i frist heard ::bg entry, i thought elitsa was singing 'samo champignoni' :D
7. i liked the stage this year and the fact, that the audience was so close to it.
8. like last year's winner, i think 'only teardrops' is nothing special, sorry.
9. i liked, how ::hr singers were dressed.
10. i believe, that ::sl dancers were in sweden just beacuse the mother of one of the dancer works at RTV SLO and also helped to choose our entry this year. i liked the dance, though
11. ::az had THE BEST stage preformance this year.

and for the end, here is a little confession from me: i know, i sometimes have a weird taste :D

::ad 2008 should have qualified and should be top 5 in the final
::de 2007 deserved 2nd place
::no 2008 is the best Norwegian entry ever
::sm Should have qualifed in all their attempts and been top 5 in 2011 and won in 2013
::nl 2005, 2008 and 2010 deserved to qualify
::mk Deserved 2nd in 2012
::es Should have won in 2012 and top 10 in 2005

Europe always tends to over-rate Scandinavian entries.

::no 2009 is the most overrated song ever, and Iceland should have won that year.

::md 2013 deserved better place, bad number killed it.

::sm Deserved final this year/

::mk 2012 is one of thier worst entries ever.

::it was terribly overrated in 2011.

Sadly I agree ::it 2011 was overrated. Great song, but second place?

Nina Zilli and/or Marco Mengoni deserved the second place more!

With several people confessing they think ::it 2011 is overrated, I'm going to say it was underrated (though only by televoters) - because it was.

I do not like new voting system! It seems more complicated and it can put average songs above outstanding ones (despite if we are talking about televoters or jury, I do not like that)! :?

Verjamem

Also I don't like it. It's very unfair and complicated. EBU must back to previous system. There is no another way.
