I know there's many besides me who are asking this question, and i know what the answer is going to be. But right now i'm wondering, is Azerbaijan going to rely on a foreign production company to handle the show, or do it all by themselves?

I think we will do it in collaboration.

Woohoo
17th May 2011, 18:35
^ 100% foreign production. besides, their winning entry was swedish!

Narmina
17th May 2011, 18:37
^ that's not the fact! Cause the show was made in collaboration with some directors from Estonia as I know. So don't say it strickly

Swedes and Ukrainians will be involved, 100%. Imo. Swedish specialists work on almost every ESC ))) Ukrainians have a rich experience of preparing Azeri entries and Azeri NFs (including Land of Fire show). Most def we will help with the light.

I think they can do it without the need of any help.(excpect the swedes and ukrainians, and that will only be to make it better because of their excperience ;) )

Azerbaijan will have to rely on foreign companies. But most will be doing themselves. In Azerbaijan, there are all for construction, there are good designers, arhitektrory .... All the countries to rely on foreigners. Especially since the organizers of the Eurovision (5 countries) do provide assistance conditional (slightly);)

They have been trying to win so bad for 4 years, since they participated for the first time. I'm sure they'll! Why does everyone keep mentioning that?

I haven't any doubt Azerbaijan will make an amazing show!

And i think they will already do better interval act than Germany.

I also hope they will have postcards showing the country, what an incredible opportunity to develop tourism in Azerbaijan! I mean the postcards in Serbia were a great idea but in the end i'd rather have seen some videos about the country!

Narmina
18th May 2011, 12:36
^ I'm sure they will prepare something interesting for guests.

Oh postcards. The first thing that I always value is the postcards made by the winner. I hooope that our postcards would be very colourfull and interestin. I liked very much the postcards made by Turkey, Greece and Finland.

Did you see the tourism advertising video of Azerbaijan?

That is just from the interview with some unknown "expert". We will know about the budget later when they decide on the next steps. So far everything is unclear

Russia’s Channel One does not expose the amount of its spending on Eurovision in Moscow. However, it transpired that the budget of the contest was evaluated at about $42 million. Konstantin Ernst, the Director of Channel One, said that last year’s Eurovision cost 24 million euros (about $32 million).

They will pay for it, but it will be done by others. Same as in Moscow, Belgrade and Kiev.... just Google who really did those shows...
They will need some planes to transport all that stuff down there.
