Panorama.am quoting the Head of the Broadcaster.
There will be:

INTERNAL choice of the singer

+ selection of the song (NF or not NF it's not clear)

he said that they will organize a contest for the song (he didn't specify if it will be a NF or they will choose the song internally)

also, he hinted that it was done because of this year's scandal on the NF.

LUCINA - Just For Fun

Music & Lyrics by: Rafael Herero
Produced by: WONDERBOX Entertainment
Art Director: Talar Mesrobian
Directed by: Marc J. Karam

Just For Fun /Lyrics

everybody agrees
that we all need fun, don’t we?
everybody agrees
that we all need fun, feel free

say you love me
that’d be a good start
and i’ll saw you
the way right to the stars

just relax
don’t go fast
let’s take our time it’s our chance
take me high, blow my mind
and i will be yours you’ll be mine

everybody agrees
that we all need fun, don’t we?
it’s just for fun
don’t take it seriously
it’s just for fun
we’ll put the limits
yes it’s just for fan
we’ll decide where to stop

kiss me please me
uncover my skin
find the secret
my jewel is within
sweet caress, tenderness
i promise I’ll give you my best

everybody agrees
that we all need fun, don’t we?
it’s just for fun
don’t take it seriously
it’s just for fun
we’ll put the limits
yes it’s just for fun
we’ll decide where to stop

everybody agrees
that we all need fun, feel free

Lucina – Artist Of The Month – July 2010 ;)

http://www.armenianpulse.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/36659_138971522785322_100000174251012_431351_29794 77_n-200x300.jpg

An artist with an uncompromising passion for music, LUCINA exploded onto the scene, igniting audiences worldwide within a matter of a few short years. Her voice, fueled by the energy and passion of youth, her sound, melodic and moving coupled with a rhythmic edge. A pioneer in many respects within the music industry, LUCINA is the first artist from Armenia to sign with the EMI label, an unprecedented feat for a budding musician.

After her hit single “On Tour” with former Fugees front man Wyclef Jean, she moved seamlessly from up-tempo Oriental grooves to sultry ballads like “Miracle” and “Take Me Away”, off her self-titled debut album. With a veteran’s self-assurance, her work bears hints of early Mariah and Celine, the divas she grew up on and admires. Songs like “Toor Eents Seru Ko” (Give Me Your Love) launched her remarkable career and opened the door to a world, she once only dreamt about.

Born and raised in Yerevan, LUCINA attended the Yerevan State University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, though she had been studying piano and cultivating her vocal talents since childhood. Compared to the average Armenian girl, she was truly exotic both in terms of where she resided and how she lived. Her persistence is what set her apart as she travelled abroad, in search of new opportunities. During her time in Los Angeles LUCINA was even asked to perform on Broadway, but turned it down because of her dedication to education. Realizing that her chosen profession was not her true calling, she actively began to pursue a career in music.

Whether by chance or design, LUCINA’s collaboration with internationally renowned composer, pianist and producer, Guy Manoukian, was a turning point in her career. Perfect synergy turned into harmony as her powerful vocals paired well with Manoukian’s composing skills. While in New York, recording their first track at Platinum Studios, LUCINA was discovered by Wyclef Jean, who happened to be working on his latest album, “Carnival volume II – Memoirs of an immigrant” featuring Serge Tankian, TI, Norah Jones and Paul Simon. “On Tour”, LUCINA’s first English single with Wyclef, spent five weeks at the number one spot in Armenia and went on to become a world-wide hit. While on his European tour, LUCINA had a chance to perform for thousands of fans in Madrid, a tremendous honor for her and a taste of what is to come. It wasn’t long before she was back at Platinum, recording her debut album “LUCINA” and to ink a record deal with EMI.

Over the course of the albums thirteen songs, LUCINA serves us her own portrait of American music. From Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge to Lebanon and Monaco, each video presents a different aspect of her life and each track shows us her versatility. Released in September of 2009, in her hometown of Yerevan, LUCINA was able to come back to where it all started from, not too long ago.

Plans for a second album are underway, this time in her native tongue. Inspired by the Armenian folk songs she used to sing with her grandmother, LUCINA intends to dedicate the record to her and to represent her nation on the world stage

Ethan Boroian was born on the 26th of October 1989 in Illinois and moved to France at the age of two.
He began playing guitar at 13; joining a band with two of his friends after playing guitar for only a few months. The band, “Jona’s Basement”, focused on rock music and played various clubs, including New Morning in Paris. It was only after the band broke up in 2003 that Ethan began approaching different styles of music. After a year of playing strictly Blues and Jazz, Ethan decided to move forward looking at other genres. Ethan started to write his own music at the age of fifteen, and has never looked back. Now living in England while he studies at Royal Holloway University of London, he still finds the time to write music and dreams of people all over the world listening to his music.

Please don't send a ethno song. I think that it's time for a modern song from Armenia.

Why? It's been a working formula so far. Atleast Armenia hass been in my top.10 2008-2010.

Also ethnic doesn't mean it can't be modern in the same time. No entry Armenia send was "pure traditional ethno music" in any ways, they've all been mixed up with more current genres and styles.

Armenia is a proud nation and aren't afraid to show it to Europe. I wish more countries would follow in those steps rather than the other way round where everyone trying to send as Americanized/Westernized music as possible.

I agree with you about the last part. I also don't like the way the American/Western music "took the stage" of the Eurovision Song Contest. I'm a fan of this event because I consider it something alternative to the contemporany crappy songs (see Gaga, Britney & other sh*tty acts like that).

But I also want diversity. Evolution is a word I like so much. IMO, if Armenia will keep sending ethno songs they refuse to dare to take the risk to achieve higher levels. Every country should use its potential 100% and don't stick to a formula they think it's the best.

Well you weren't too far from winning in 2008 and that was ethno-pop.

Looking at winners past decade, half of them (2003-2005, 2007, 2009), were all entries with local/ethnic elements.

Atleast Lena has some personal style, also in her voice. Emmy doesn't even have that, her voice is just plain boring to me.

Well, in the end of the day the song is what is most important, but I can't find one song released by her yet I like though, and the 2010 (with Mirhan) entry was pretty bad also.

4-5 songs will participate in the NF.

They have already received 30 songs. From Armenia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Germany, Russia ...

Not a smart move to start off with bad attitude when she's a bad performer with weak live voice herself. Reminds me of Safura last year who also thought she was the queen of the world. Anyways it should be "can be" and not "can't be".

Agree!

A dancer who thinks he can rap and a singer with a weak voice. Atleast she could manage some booty-shake type of song alone and it would probably turn out pretty good if the song would be good enough, but a lame rapper will destroy any type of potential there might have been now.

I know why they do this because they're gonna market him as "dancer for Madonna", like people care? He is obviously a talented dancer and good looking lad, but as a rapper/singer he is a joke.

From ESCDaily:

As it has already been announced that Emmy will represent Armenia at the upcoming contest, a new rumour has emerged that Mihran will be joining her in her bid.

This is slightly true as Emmy spoke with us today. Emmy told ESCDAILY.com in statement; “Mihran might be on the stage with me, but we dont have the best song, YET. If that song is going to be a fast one, Mihran will be in the show and everything. I asked Mihran if he wants to be with me in the show but he said to me let’s wait for that song – thats it!”

I've never been one of those that screams for the best voices in Eurovision, I'm mostly about the songs, but having watched Emmy's performance in 2010 selection, she really is not a good singer, so with this show being playback and all, should it be a sign of that she can't really pull it off live generally?

Aw it's a bit of fun lol and it is very catchy, it's stuck in my head now! If the backing track is improved majorly then this could do alright I think! I seem to remember Jan Jan sounding awful in the national selection and then it became one of my favourites after they improved it for the actual contest! Armenia seem to take eurovision very seriously so I'll be surprised if it ends up on the eurovision stage as the song stands now :) I hope it improves anyway lol ...

Boom boom chaka chaka :P

Boom boom chaka chaka?? It would be great combined with haba haba and waka waka.
OK, I already wrote my opinion about the 4 songs in Armenian selection. And this was my last favorite (actually last time I gave it 0 cause I strongly disliked it). Now I still don't like it, but I'll give it 1, just for the effort...and cause (imo) it's not the worst song of the ESC 2011, but it's definitely most pointless songs with cheap english lyrics. 5 y o child would write better song.

This is the worst Armenian entry ever. I'll give it two points.

You'll end very low!

Oops sorry you're Armenia, then you will end at the same place Russia did at Esc 2011

Well,it's obvious that Armenia isn't willing to win Esc 2011 that's why they send Boom boom.though Eurovision is very unpredictable contest that u never know which song gonna win.and most viewers are kids with mobiles who are not particular with money ,so they'll vote for Boom-Boom ,Chaka-chaka :)

Sorry, but this is ESC, not JESC!!!!!

1 point from me, and I was really generous!

Boom boom, chaka chaka! Well, that's another original title with very deep meaning, after Haba Haba and Da Da Dam!
(although the finnish song is nice)!!

It has grow on me from awfully bad to ok.

Unfortunately for you Armenia, Europe will only hear this one time before voting.

This year we will discover if the Armenian diaspora is as big as we think. We know people who left their country have only one dream, that may comes to vote as much as possible for it on eurovision night.

But until know Armenia always had decent entry, i dislike 2007 very much but it was at the end and some people liked it. So until know Armenia has it's diaspora to gain points but also a lot of people who just liked theirs songs.

2011 is diaspora alone unless the song is completely revamp in 7 days, with a mean jury counting for 50%.

And 70 points from the televote for finland & 40 from the jury wasn't enough to make the top ten.

In all fairness, this song doesn't deserve to qualify, there are at least 10, if not more, better songs in this semi but we'll see. This is the weakest of all of the Armenian entries since they started competing in 2006.

Our favorite ESC tabloid oikotimes posted

Eurovision 2011 fans in Armenia disagree with the selection of a song Boom-Boom to be performed by Armenian singer Emmy at the song contest. As the statement addressed to panarmenian.net said, the selection was illogical as the song АYO was leading the SMS votings the results of which were posted on the web.

“Boom Boom is a plagiarism of a song earlier performed by a Russian singer Jasmine,” the fans stressed, noting that votes sent for AYO were never accepted by the voting system. Armenian fans urged to annul voting results till March 10 and pick AYO to be presented at Eurovision 2011.

This is a pretty bad song in my opinion, but still nowhere near the worst of this year's entries. The backing music is actually alright.

New Version of "Boom Boom": http://soundcloud.com/haykalas/emmy-boom-boom-official

It's very cheesy, but somehow quite contemporary, since it feels like the 70s discotune is starting to come back a bit. I just can't dislike it, even though I think a place around 10th is only possible for the diaspora country number 1. Not the best, but a good one from Armenia! :)

The new version doesn't sound too different to me :S I was hoping for a bit more instrumentation and heavier beat but it still sounds flat. Oh well, sorry Armenia!

it is still the same crap!

Armenians made a big mistake this year. Any other song from this year's NF would do better in Düsseldorf imo, but "Boom boom".. Well, it's one of the worst 2011 entries.

Armenia should have chosen "Hi". It reminded me of "Qele Qele".

Even though this song isn't as great as their previous entries, this revamped version does have more oomph than the original

I think it's groovy, not among the best songs this year, but not the worst either

An average song- definitely not the worst this year, but Armenia has done much better in the past!

I suppose they did not want to win this year, because they are already hosting the Junior Eurovision this coming fall. Hence, “boom boom, chaka chaka...“ :D

Can't stand this song. Think it's pretty bad and it will probably make it to the final, because it's Armenia after all... 38th in my list.

Galandar
15th March 2011, 17:00
Ayo was so much better but do not worry, you will be in the final, you are Armenia

Qele_Armenia
15th March 2011, 18:33
Nobody is worrying.yeah, most likely will be in final as well as other countries that have big diasporas.Boom is a nice song that fits this contest and I think here in this forum it's pretty underrated.most viewers of eurovision are teenagers .they will send sms for this kind of songs :)

adamsamways
15th March 2011, 18:38
Hmmm I can assure you that teenagers in the UK would laugh at this song and say it's completely uncool and rubbish! I think it's main audience here will be drunks that find eurovision a joke and see this as a good joke entry.

Qele_Armenia
15th March 2011, 19:25
Seems u take eurovision too seriously.relax and have fun .England never gave us points,so we don't count on your points -)

I want to like her song, but she just sounds a lot like Kalomoira, and that's not really a great thing. Her song is really cute and catchy though :)
