News relating to Malta 2016:

I'll be the first to say it... something traditional please xthink

An internal selection would be good for a change. But that will never happen.

What would be eurovision without MESC though? I just love having 4 songs, followed by an endless advert break and interval act.

Note to self: Never let Malta win ESC. xscared

Geez... don't remind me of that!
I gladly skipped last year's MESC final because I worked that night.

A perfect example of how to extend a 1 hour show into a 4-5 hours show!

As a Maltese, I get bored watching it. And it's not just MESC - but all productions in general, be it drama or debate, commercial breaks end up taking more airtime than the show itself.

I do feel sorry for your entire country. We moan about advert breaks here, but compared to yours they're so short.

The whole NF process must be re-evaluated... so much hype, so much drivel.
Amber clearly had the best song of course, but there wasn't much to choose from - dated Disney ballads and weak uptempos.

We need daring stuff. Sadly most contemporary producers/singers just snub Eurovision - I honestly believe we can win this whole thing but not if the national final is crammed with the usual artists/songwriters recycling the same old formula. Amber stood out as had a great song, but also because she hardly had any competition.

Second row of the audience on the right is recently injured judo superstar Amber who has just received divine inspiration to become a warrior; it will eventually take her five and a half years for her not to accept defeat and be the one who's really winning, but someday, she will do exactly that.

Early selection again, why the rush?

I was hoping for the 19th and 20th of February so I can go to the semi on my birthday then the final the day after and get wasted after the show.. but they don't seem to take my needs into consideration :(

Terence

It used to be held mid-February but now it's among the first... probably into the lame bullshit excuse of 'time for promo, editing of the song'... and why do songs need to be revamped anyway?

Simple 10-song national final in March and get it over with.

10 songs is not enough for their "Mediterranian Bank" ads.

She is 13, but I wrote smth like that, she is better in singing technique than 90% of ESC singers me thins, and that composition with which she won yesterday is so groovy, I wrote I'd like smth like that for Malta in ESC in Stockholm.

Malta has sent great entries to JESC in the past 3 years and the results show it. Their entries in the JESC were better than their entries in the ESC every year actually.

Don't really pay attention to JESC but listened to the Maltese song this year. It's such a Forget You/Fuck You ripoff. I thought it was rather underwhelming. I think that Malta has had a bunch of great entries. Tomorrow and Coming home come to mind, both were fantastic entries. Granted, Amber's song was garbage but I always have fairly high expectations when it comes to Malta. Fingers crossed for something awesome in 2016.

Agreed! I wasn't the biggest fan of Malta's 2013 JESC winner, and probably liked their ESC entries over the last few years more than most people, but their JESC entries as of late have just felt more... professional, I suppose? Although the one JESC entry from them that I've liked the most (2014) was the one that didn't win :(

I think you can't compare JESC and ESC regarding the factors that make a winner. Less countries, less attention in the countries, language rule, Kids jury,.... So many factors that could influence a victory....

Ones to watch for the victory:

Ira Losco (obviously) I think she will have it in the bag, unless she has Borg/Vella songs
Brook Borg is amazing! she is one that I have been hoping would enter, I think she will have something really fresh and modern, she could be a good coice
Christabelle came 2nd last year (and would have been a better winner than Amber looking back) she could do well in 2016 with a similar song
Franklin is another that would have been a better choice than Amber this year, I think he has an amazing voice and will do well in Eurovision one day
Corazon has been a favourite from what I have heard, I think it was assumed she would enter a song in Maltese but the title seems to say differently, she could possibly be one to watch... depending on the song
Stefan Galea had a big hit earlier this year and he could be one to watch

I'm devastated at the lack of Jo Zette and Amelia Hope on that list. Not even Miriam Christine is there. Those three would have got me excited. I even would have welcomed a new Chiara dance hit about fashion.. oh well. I'm hoping for some nice surprises with the songs. I enjoyed Jessika's eurotrashtacular "Fandango" last year, so if one of her three songs there is as fun then i'll be happy.

I agree, it should be 50/50 if anything but if you look at what happened in recent years

2013 - Televote winner Jessika / Jury Winner Gianluca
2014 - Televote winner Kevin / Jury winner Firelight
2015 - Televote winner Amber / Jury winner Amber

I think the juries made the better decision in 2013 and 2014

Well actually, the winners of all 3 of those years would not have changed with a 50/50 vote.

Assuming the multiple jury vote is kept same and the amount of televoting points are just multiplied by the number of juries then the top 3 from each year would be:

2013
1. Gianluca Bezzina - 152
2. Kevin Borg - 152
3. Chris Grech - 90

2014
1. Firelight - 91
2. Daniel Testa - 81
3. De Bee - 78

2015
1. Amber - 120
2. Christabelle - 75
3. Ekklesia Sisters - 63

The only questionable year would be 2013, and whether the public or jury vote would take priority.

At first I was really skeptical while listening, but then that chorus hit, and now I'm hooked. Would be so happy to see her win. Actually, there's a lot of really promising stuff in the NF. Sadly not part of the aforementioned "promising stuff" is Lawrence Gray, one of my favorites last year, but he knows how to kick it up about seventy notches live, so I'm not giving up hope.

Already promising
All Around the World - in every way, this sounds like something RuPaul would sing.
Flashing Lights - please, PLEASE tell me it's strangely a cappella like that.
Falling Glass - a nice little ballad. Highly listenable.
Alive - super overwrought and epic. Dark horse alert!
The Flame - Jessika. QotM (if I tell you that revallsay is QotP, you can figure this out). This has to be her year.
That's Why I Love You and Chameleon - who is this woman, and what has she done with the performer who brought us the snooze from 2002?
Right Here with You - as I said, screams cannon fodder, so I can't get too attached, but really fun-sounding at first.
Could go either way
You're Beautiful - the song is kind of a giant letdown, but as I said, he can pull it together for a performance.
Golden - unbelievably generic but could ultimately grow into something at least comfortable.
Lighthouse - it's nice as a 1-minute sample but could be either awfully boring or awfully overblown as a 3-minute song.
Empty Hearted - another really generic one but accompanied by can't-take-my-eyes-off-but-can't-put-my-eyes-on choreography. May be highly entertaining onstage.
I Love You - I feel awful about myself because I don't hate this. We'll see.
Frontline - almost put this in the above section but already feels long. Could be a top 3 contender if the full song goes somewhere.
Kingdom - she imploded live last year, but a strong-sounding song. We'll see if she can keep her shit together onstage this time around.
Already not interested
Young Love - the phony accent *shudders* she has some growing to do as a performer before she's ready to compete against this group.
Under the Sun - Avicii remix of a Script song. Either'd be bad enough on its own. Malta, please don't be in my 40s this year.
Little Love - annoying last year, annoying this year. Next.
Fire Burn - no.

Sarah - Sera pls, you can't even sing on playback..
Stefan - Ok, seriously now. Do they have any no-gay artist there in Malta? No offence though, I'm just curious right now.

Maxie Pace - Such a bad " It's all about that bass" copy... seriously what kind of jury accepts things like this one.

Like:
Deborah
Jasmine
Ira Losco x2 (why does she have two songs?)
Christabelle

I'm guessing its because the last time she went to ESC she finished 2nd. The broadcaster probably really want her to go again so their giving her two chances to make it happen. Their probably hoping, naively or not, lighting could strike twice.

Of course by giving her two songs that could all backfire on them

I thought Ira's songs were both kinda rubbish tbh.

The last time we had an act with 2 songs in the semi was 2013 when Richard had "Fall like Rome" and "Wonderful Today " with Petra

But as for people asking why Ira has 2 songs in the Semi-Final. The rules state that a singer can have 2 songs in the semi-final, but may only have 1 song in the final

At first listen I'd say Maxine Pace and Sarah Crystal. But Fandango would beat them all! Go for Fandango 2016! Change the rules!

I think MESC's level has been increased since last year's maltese selection, thus the winner won't be so easy to determine as Amber last year.
My favorite singers/songs are (in a random order) :
-*IRA LOSCO// Chameleon & That's Why I Love You: Both songs are quite good so far except if the entire song is average...
-*JESSIKA// The Flame: I still don't get why it suddenly grew on me during those listenings, I find it very attractive. :)
-*SARAH CRYSTAL// Right Here with You: To me, that's the most promising song in this national final, I hope Sarah will fly the Maltese flag to Stockholm.
-*CHRISTABELLE/ Kingdom: I love the title, it reminds me the background of Slovenian performance at JESC 2015. Nonetheless, it could have the same potential as Ira Losco does have with her both two songs.

OVERALL : It's a very good selection this year, I hope I won't be upset by the results !

I gave the snippets a quick peek before I went to bed last night and I was actually in a state of shock at how I wasn't feeling a single song on offer. I know a minute isn't much time to get a feel for a piece of music and some of these will obviously build to something, but gosh.. not looking very promising for my tastes. I've just given them another listen now to see if I feel any differently on second listen, and less tired.

Passable

Jessika Muscat - The Flame
Dario Mifsud Bonnici - I Love You (actually, frick.. I should hate this but I don't for some reason. What's coming over me?)

Didn't instantly repel me

Sarah Crystal - Right Here With You
Christabelle Borg - Kingdom
Franklin Calleja - Little Love
Danica Muscat - Frontline
Jasmine Abela - Alive

Not for me

Everything else

Jessika is fine. Like Lavieenrose I was thinking "oh dear" at first when she started singing, but i'm ok with it and found myself getting into the song more as it went on. For some reason I actually quite like her almost feeble, breathy voice. It's different. On a shallow note, I love looking at her. She's so beautiful and that orange hairxheat
We'll forget about the fact my body secretly wanted to enjoy Dario Mifsud Bonnici's song.. Swiftly moving on. The other songs here didn't speak to me at all. Hopefully when the full versions release there will be some surprises. At this moment in time I can see Maxine Pace walking this, which would lead to one of my iconic window jump moments.

Corazon and Ira Losco are the only reasonable choices based on snippets..

The only ones i find slightly good are Maxine and Deborah. I know, all these songs are cliched cliches but these 2 at least contain couple original and interesting melodic twists (Maxine's song sounds pretty much like "Don't worry be happy" but only the first 2 lines then it goes away from it, that is way less disturbing than this song that is a blatant Pink's "Just give me the reason" rip-off in the bridge). Maybe the full versions are going to surprise me, i don't know. Hopes are low in here.
It sounds like Malta said "Ok this year we're going to Sweden, let's just all write songs that sounds as swedish as it's possible and don't be greedy with uh-uh-uhs and oh-oh-ohs, people! We need a handful of that!" xsleep

Ira Losco will take some beating here given the resources available to her.Although its probably just a bit of fluff Maxine Pace could challenge. She has an Eliza Doolitle vibe about her.She finds the camera's easily even in that studio and the camera's like her bouncy freshness.Does the song grow though over 3 minutes or simply repeat?.Will we need to buy a huge net to catch Mr Woods in if we have "a jumper"?.
Christabelle Borg might go close again as she seems to know how to deliver an up-tempo song.Jessika might have a song to suit her this time. She might look like Chiara from Italy, its just a shame she cant sing like her though.
Far too much poor song writing here.Ooooh aaaaargh aaaaaarghh oooohs everywhere.
Ira challenged by Maxine and Christabelle for me,until we see/hear full songs.

Maxine Pace - I have a feeling I've heard this before, nothing new.

Deborah - It's like the extention of the previous song...

Lawrence Grey - Not bad (or at least in comparition to the previous two), don't know...

Brooke - Starts promising, the chorus is dissapointing a bit.

Raquel Glades - Oh, this is just acapella? I'd like to hear it performed!

Corazon - Just yet another dull ballad. Don't like it.

Kimberly Cortis - This could be mine sweet, guilty pleasure xqueenbitch It's great! The best so far!!

Jasmine Abela - NO, no, NOOO, no. .................................................. ........ NO!

Dominique Azzopardi - she looks terrible, so does she sounds!

Jessica - Awwww, her voice is so sweet xheart This is really nice! #TeamJessica!

Daniel Testa - Not a bad song, but the performer ruins it.

Franklin Calleja - ...

Dario Mifsud Bonnici - dance gurl, dance! This is a HOT HIT of the NF xheart Great song, the choreography xheat

Dominic - not my cuppa tea

Danica Muscat - she has a nice voice, the song is very melodic, but it would die hard on the ESC

Christabelle Borg - don't know, there is something about this girl that I don't like....

Sarah Crystal - don't like it, it's a wierd song

Stefan Galea - 'my heart will boom boom boom for you' xheat what a hot lyrics

Maxine Pace - It's OK, but not really a huge fan!

Deborah - This a bit better than the previous, but cannot see it doing much for people.

Lawrence Grey - I like this. I could see myself getting behind it.

Brooke - Again, not bad. Has potential!

Raquel Glades - Can't judge based on that.

Corazon - I need another thirty seconds of that to judge. It could be shit; it could be great.

Kimberly Cortis - Hmm, not bad, but feels a little sickly sweet to me.

Jasmine Abela - Ooof, yes, I could get behind this one too. I like it a lot.

Dominique Azzopardi - The voice is ruining it a little for me; otherwise not terrible.

Jessica - A bit meh really at the moment. Possibly could get me over three minutes, but nowt at the moment.

Daniel Testa - He sounds whiny. I find his voice too annoying to like the song.

Ira Losco I - Can't judge based on that.

Franklin Calleja - OK, he has vocal range, but I wish he didn't. Next please!

Dario Mifsud Bonnici - I can see him doing well. He's above average here, but not a winner for me.

Danica Muscat - Not bothered. Forgettable.

Dominic - Again, need a little longer to properly judge, but I like what I can see so far (bow tie xheat)

Christabelle Borg - For some reason I find this a little offputting. Possibly it's the clapping throughout.

Ira Losco I - Can't judge based on that.

Sarah Crystal - I could see myself getting into this in the end. Depends where she goes with it!

Stefan Galea - Oh goodness me yes please. I like this a lot. Not quite sure why, but more of him PLEASE! :D

Maxine Pace - Absolutely love the sound of this xheat

Deborah C - Nice, but she has absolutely 0 star quality

Lawrence Gray - Hate his voice, hate his songs - always the same soppy, clichéed mess

Brooke - Not keen on the lyrics, but she's got a great voice and this would sound brilliant in the arena

Raquel Galdes - Not a lot to judge off, but she has a nice voice so I look forward to this

Corazon - Sounds nice, but a bit middle of the road. Could be good in the full version!

Kimberly Cortis - Saccharine sweet, but I love it. Lovely voice too xlove

Jasmine Abela - DRAMA xheat Full version will be interesting, this could be a contender

Domenique Azzopardi - I'm really liking the sound of this one!

Jessica - Is the flame her hair? Song sounds awesome, as per usual she is a contender

Daniel Testa - Meh, bleh

Ira Losco - Not a lot to judge off really...

Franklin Calleja - I just find him SO irritating - his look, his stage presence, his voice xpuke What a soppy bore of a song too...

Dario Mifsud Bonnici - He's like a 30-odd year old Mans wannabe who likes his pies... Song is uber meh

Dominic - I quite like this, but it's just a typical boy-pop song, complete with oOoahaOOhahh hook

Danica Muscat - Quite dated, but still quite nice

Christabelle Borg - Why is she wearing a tent? Nice song though, this could be her year!

Sarah Crystal - Nice song, but her voice is so weak

Stefan Galea - Bleh

Maxine, Kimberly, Domenique, Brooke, Jessica or Christabelle pls xpray Maxine is a definite finalist at ESC imo xlove

Maxine Pace - Young Love
Deborah C - All Around The World
Jessika - The Flame
Dominic - Fire Burn

Dominic is my favourite cos he's the best looking but apart from that I'd like to see Young Love go to Stockholm.

9. Dominic "Fire Burn" - I really like this, this is something a bit fresher than Kurt Calleja, I think this could have a good chance next month and I dont think it would do too badly in ESC. I didnt think I would like it because of his previous attempt but I like this a lot :D

10. Franklin "Little Love" I think the juries will like this, I dont see it doing as well with the televote though, the song is a nice song, but lacks something. I think it in ESC it could end on the right side of the scoreboard. Not something I will be listening to a lot, but its nice.

Up to now my ranking:
1. Christabelle
2. Corazon
3. Brooke
4. Dominic

1. Brooke "Golden" Nice, modern, good song, could get forgotten in ESC though... I was hoping for something faster from Brooke
2. Christabelle "Kingdom" sounds a bit like Daniel Testa's "One last ride" could be a good choice for ESC actually, I think it would have been better performed by a boyband I think, but up to now, I think its close between Brooke and Christabelle, but I think Christabelle is leading in my ranking.
3. Corazon "Falling Glass" - one of those songs that I quite like, could do well in ESC with a good performance but I don't see this as a winner in Stockholm, but it would definitely make the final!
4. Danica "Frontline" I think this could be a bit like Hungary 2015, I dont really se eit doing well, but with a lot of luck it could make the final in ESC but not do very well in it.. Sorry, not the best song from Danica
5. Daniel Testa "Under the sun" - I was hoping for something better, more like 2014, after the mess he sent last year this is a breath of fresh air, but I dont see this doing well in ESC. He has such potential but there is something lacking. I like this but I think it would be forgotten in the semi in stockholm :(
6. Dario "I love You" - ok song, nothing special, dont see this winning MESC or doing well in ESC. It's a bit forgettable I quite like it but its not for a song contest
7. Deborah C "All around the world" sounds very late 90s I think. If this made ESC I think it would struggle, I usually like Deborah's song, and I quite like this, but, it lacks a lot. Sorry Debbie I dont think 2016 is your year :(

11. Ira Losco "Chameleon" - The one I've been waiting for, starts off really well.. the beat kicks in and gets better.. I can see this going very well in ESC. With the right staging I can see this being a contender for the top in May. Ira didn't let me down!

7. Deborah C "All around the world" sounds very late 90s I think. If this made ESC I think it would struggle, I usually like Deborah's song, and I quite like this, but, it lacks a lot. Sorry Debbie I dont think 2016 is your year :(
8. Domenique "Empty Hearted" sounds like her song from last year, it lacks something. I think this may make the final next month but I dont see it winning. I think it could go either way in ESC, but I'm leaning toward DNQ
11. Ira Losco "Chameleon" - The one I've been waiting for, starts off really well.. the beat kicks in and gets better.. I can see this going very well in ESC. With the right staging I can see this being a contender for the top in May. Ira didn't let me down!
12. Ira Losco "That's why I Love You" Nice song, I dont see this being a contender in May. I think we have heard this type of song a few times before. Its good, don't get me wrong, but not as good as I was hoping.
13. Jasmine Abela "Alive" starts off amazing! turns into Helena Paparizou's "Survivor". Sounds like a mash up of a few songs, I think it could do very every well with the right performance. I cans see this being a contender for the top! I would be very happy to see this in ESC I think it could do Malta proud!
14. Jessika "The Fame" It's ok, nice song, dont see this doing well in ESC at all, she will probably make the final of MESC, but I dont see her doing as well as "hypnotica". It doesnt have that 'umph' needed
15. Kimberley "Lighthouse" This could be a dark horse I think. I really like this. I think it could do quite well. Its nice, simple, different.. It's got a nice quality to it. simplicity has shown it can do very well in ESC, look at Netherlands 2014 and Cyprus 2004.. Watch this one
16. Lawrence Gray "You're Beautiful" Not one of his best songs. I dont think 2016 is his year. Could have done well in the early 00s. I dont see this doing well in ESC, I think it would struggle to get votes and also struggle to be remembered. This could have been written for Franklin
17. Maxine "Young Love" after Destiny winning JESC with a similar song I think this will do very well in MESC! It's very radio friendly and could do quite well in ESC. I think its fresh. I don't see it winning in Stockholm but I think it could do quite well
18. Raquel "Flashing Lights" first time hearing this because she only sung a bit in the announcement show. She has a very distinctive voice but the song isnt great. I think it could do OK.. not a winner. sounds like it could be in Eesti Laul

19. Sarah Crystal "Right Here With You" I dont know how this would go down in ESC.. I think it could go either way.. do well or flop. I dont see any middle ground. I think it will also depend on her vocals, they seem VERY edited. I think it sounds like a song that would have done well in the charts about 13 years ago. could do well though, I cant decide

4. Danica "Frontline" I think this could be a bit like Hungary 2015, I dont really see it doing well, but with a lot of luck it could make the final in ESC but not do very well in it..

There's a few others I wouldn't mind either.

Chameleon is the biggest disappointment IMO. The snippet was very promising but it doesn't deliver on thst initial promise.

Listened to 9 songs so far and the standard is utterly dreadful. It's like an episode of X-Factor. Generic dance-pop for the most part. Chameleon makes my ears bleed. Jasmine Abela and Corazon are the only non-shit ones so far.

That's great because if she will have 2 songs in the grand final then votes can divide to 2 her songs and then she could have a lower chance to win :P So I hope she will qualify with Chameleon

1) Ira Losco – Chameleon
2) Brooke - Golden
3) Maxine – Young Love
4) Franklin – Little Love
5) Corazón – Falling Glass
6) Daniel Testa – Under the Sun

That could all change though, that order is basically just from my first listens... and a lot would depend for me on the performances at the NF!

I think Ira or Maxine would do really well generally.

I personally also like Brooke, Franklin, Corazón an Daniel Testa, but not sure if they are winners (maybe just my own taste)... big performances could make all the difference though... and if we end up with a ballad year or uptempo year!

I'll believe you that it's between these three songs, cause I have no time to listen to so much songs.

I wasn't a fan of Ira Losco in 2002, but I hope she wins, cause that's the only worthy song out of this top-3. I don't like "Alive" at all and "Lighthouse" is extremely cheesy. Anyway, I don't think "Chameleon" is any better than "Warrior", so I don't have high hopes.

BTW Deborah C - "All around the world" is much better than any of those and I think it would stand out in ESC MUCH more.

Finally gotten through a couple of listens of the songs and I think I'll have to back either Kingdom or Chameleon. I feel like my favourites for this year's Maltese NF are clearer than they have been in previous years - for the last couple of years I ended up with 4-5 songs that I kinda liked, and no clear favourite between them; whereas this time I don't like as many but I'm more impressed by the ones I do like. I'm probably tending more towards Kingdom at the moment, but with a good enough performance and a good match-up against other songs (eg. if Kingdom were to end up in ESC against another ballad-heavy year), either one seems to have a good shot at cracking the top 10.

That's totally stupid.

Honestly, if I was Ira I'd be pretty happy about that ruling. With two of her songs in the final, it's entirely possible that her fans would split their vote between her two entries; with only one, they'll be a little more focused together, giving whichever song is in the final a better chance of winning.

Still, I do think it's a little silly that they let her two songs through anyway. Chameleon's so far ahead of her other entry, both in quality and popularity, that it'll obviously take the finals slot, and I'd be very surprised indeed if things didn't go that way... I'd have preferred that they chose a different entry for the semis in the first place rather than putting in Ira's second entry that won't qualify anyway unless it somehow beats Chameleon.

I'm still baffled by the way Malta decides to do their semifinal. I thought the whole point of semifinals was to use them when you've got too many songs to fit in a single night... not just some kinda redundant elimination round. What does it even accomplish?

Looked through a bunch of the rehearsal videos, and it does nothing to change my opinion that Christabelle or Ira (with Chameleon) are the two best options by far. I'd love to see one of them end in the top 10 at Eurovision this year.

The only thing that will start to roll out on the floor, if that happens, is Ira Loscos carrier, which will restart with a flop in Stockholm.

I think Maltese NF this year is really weak, and the rehearsal clips didn't help at all for me. Except for one song and that is "Lighthouse". It HAS to be Falling Glass! The best song of this high quality NF! I love Ira Losco but her songs are very underwhelming for me. I think Corazon's song has everything.

Not at all, don't forget that Ira was the first singer, before Chiara, to have brought Malta a decent result in the ESC (2nd place) and with this fame all around her in Malta, I can say that she'll go to Stockholm whether she would perform TWILV or Chameleon in Stockholm.

However, I could get it wrong and see Ira Losco don't go to Stockholm after my false predictions

2014:

2015:

2016:
Prediction - Ira (Chameleon)
Wish: Jasmine / Ira / Christabelle / Deborah / Brooke (all depends on the performances tonight I think, I will have a better wish once I have seen them live)

Ira will reach some high notes (even though there weren't any high note in Chameleon or few ones...) when she'll perform Chameleon to make the song more alive than it would be without this.

Ira was pretty good, but I dont really like the stage and the presentation of the song yet :/

Romeo

Ira's Staging wasn't great... If she goers to ESC then this needs to be changed

GlamSIMorous

Falling Glass: Why the heck did you wear High Heels that prevent her from walking well on that stage. Having such a song and then moving like ... not :? Good song though!

Alright so far - I'll update as we go on:
Chameleon: Liking this one more and more. I stand behind my prediction that it's going to win.
Falling Glass: They need to get rid of the contemporary dancing, and her vocal needs to go out of her noise, but there's potential there.
Light Up My Life: AWFUL. Too right to be a troll entry and too wrong to be anything else.
Empty Hearted: This woman has clearly never been on television before. Good for her. In five odd years she's going to go to Eurovision and do very well, but she's not ready yet. Glad she's getting started - yet again, there's potential here, just not potential for ESC 2016.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Loooooooooooooove Youuuuuuuuuuu: Y'all finally got me. This is how you troll properly - unintentionally hilarious, and I embrace it completely.

I think if "Light up my life" was sung by a girl I would have liked it more.. I got a Kurt Calleja vibe from that though

Now Domenique... its one of those songs that is pointless because it wont make it... (Here's where it makes it to the final and I regret saying that)

Under the Sun - he looks like Drake's lil' brother  I like it. Well, comparing to previous entries.

Jessica - when she goes "aaah, aaahhh" ... gurl, it's not Brazzersvision  Horrible song almost saved by gr8 vocals.

Franklin has the voice of a cherub...it's too bad his songs are perpetual cliche ballads.

Romeo
22nd January 2016, 22:36
Franklin is amazing! he really is. His time will come in ESC and I think he will do very well. he is exactly what the juries want. I just think he will get overshadowed over and over again in MESC. but when he wins he will do amazingly well in ESC

theCONWEL

Romeo
22nd January 2016, 22:40
Just had to message Christabelle and tell her how amazing she was. I would love to see her in ESC soon!

I think if Ira doesnt win it will be Christabelle and he deserves it! I think going 1st could be a kick in the d**k for Ira and I think possibly TWILY could make the final instead of Chameleon and I dont think that will get as many votes tomorrow.. so who knows..

I think its Ira's MESC but I could be wrong.. I was convinced Kevin would win in 2013 for the same reason but Gianluca stole it... Who knows..

bstream
22nd January 2016, 22:40
Dominic's entry into MESC sounds like the product of an inside joke or the result of losing a bet among friends. This entry is very poor vocally and melodically.
