I would like Azerbaijan to send something uptempo. I always look forward to ethno-pop at Eurovision but overtime we are seeing less and less of it. It would be great to see a successful country like Azerbaijan be brave and bring it back to the contest, paving the way for other countries to show some more of their culture in their pop songs.

Stefan Örn in an interview by esctoday

Stefan Örn wrote the Azerbaijan contributions to Eurovision 2010 (Safura Alizadeh - Drip Drop), 2011 (Eldar & Nikki - Running Scared), 2012 (Sabina Babayeva - When the Music Dies) and 2014 (Dilara Kazimova - Start a Fire). Running Scared is an Eurovision winner. I love all the songs and they're among my absolute favourites in Eurovision, especially When the Music Dies and Start a Fire. Stefan Örn is a musician and songwriter from Kalmar Sweden. He is the nephew of famous football coach Pia Sundhage.

I would love to have this cooperation continue. xheartxhmmmxcheerxcheer

Azerbaijan deserves a 3-year ban, just like Georgia. That the Georgian jury wasn't honest is certain by now, but about Azerbaijans jury voting no one cares. Armenia was voted last by all jurors of course, followed by 13 western countries, inlcuding Sweden and the Netherlands...
The place difference for ALL countries is never more than 3 spots. Even the voting differences between the twins Inga and Anush of the Armenian jury were bigger. Obviously Azerbaijan was just a bit more careful when they tried to fool us....

I actually enjoyed the three most recent Azerbaijani entries (2013 in particular) so I'm looking forward to their next entry. Most of their entries I needed to warm up to but as some of you guys already mentioned, I'm hoping for something less predictable. Now I disliked "Always" immensely, however it scored high so why not give an upbeat song another shot?

But most importantly, I'm hoping for something less Swedish (no offense to my Swedish friends). 2014 felt slightly more authentic so maybe we're in for a surprise....

Oh no Dilara couldn't sing live in English properly and it was all a big mess, that coupled with the fact Azerbaijan couldn't risk buying the televote meant that they just couldn't guarantee the points they bought off the corrupt juries. They really should have had Dilara sing in Azeri which would have been more comfortable for her.

Apparently there are rumours that Azerbaijan will skip organizing an NF and just do an internal selection. The reason for this is that everyone is too caught up with the 2015 European Games.

If it's internal then what is this bit about:

Azerbaijani artists (citizens living in Azerbaijan or overseas or artists of Azerbaijani origin only) who wishes to participate in the national selection and feels confident enough to submit his/her entry needs to provide following: basic information such as name, surname, date of birth, city of residence as well as a video/audio recording or Youtube link of a performance and up to five photos.

It's a bit late to start organising any NF.

We can guess why this year Azerbaijan goes internal.

A. To try something new after so many years of NF
B. To find a way to internally select Elnur Huseynov
C. To internally select a political song to fight against Armenia (a bit of conspiracy theory but that may be why they despite that go internal have to delay until March 15 to find a song, they want to do it after Armenia to see if Armenian entry is really political)
D. To make a change after last year's bad result (but why didn't they revive Milim Secim Turu then?)

Today's rumors about Azerbaijan: Some Turkish ESC fans claim that Nigar Jamal will represent Azerbaijan with the song Broken Dreams which is about Khojaly. Songwriter and composer of the song are Turkish. The song is released last wednesday.

I hope that it's just a stupid rumor. We don't need another "Don't Deny" or a pissing contest.

It is true that the sound effects is a bit too much, though the bits I hear, I really like that song though. I have nothing against "In memory of.." songs, if they are good at least! :D But I doubt Azerbaijan is so "stupid" to send it, I have a strong feeling that it will be uptempo this time.

On March 13th jury members held final internal selections to determine the performer who will represent Azerbaijan on Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

National Jury consisting of members including the General Director of Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company of Azerbaijan and Head of Delegation Tamilla Shirinova voted for their favorite performer among Narmina Behbudova, Narmina Seyidova, and Elnur Huseynov (http://www.itv.az/index.php/en/eurovision-2014/zhury-members-held-final-internal-seledztions-to-determine-the-performer-who-will-represent-azerbaizhan-on-eurovision-sonzh-dzontest-2015)who had all qualified to final stage of national selection. Juries will probably love it.

Only if jury members are above 80 years old in average and easily scared by actual songs.

Much like the Armenian entry, you have to make a lot of interpretational leaps for the song to be political.
