Which is the best of the now 17 songs that the minor 'plebs' wanted to qualify to the Grand Final but foundered on the verdict of the musical 'elite'?

Vote in the poll!

Close between ::fi 2010 and ::me 2013, but I chose "Työlki ellää".
Most of those songs actually aren't that great, and didn't deserve to qualify, or qualify 8th-10th.

Of course Haba Haba. When I watched first semi final of Eurovision Song Contest 2011, Haba Haba was my sure favourite :(

::me "Igranka", no doubt !
BTW ::pl "I don't wanna leave" was 12th in SF2 2009, also jury could push it into the final. After Igranka, it's best jury-eliminated entry to me.

I voted for ::fi 2010. BTW, 2013 is a very difficult year to comment on. While Switzerland and Montenegro are rather clear bombs with the juries. Croatia may or may not have qualified on televotes alone (we will never know) so I don't know if this should be included on that list.

I thought about that too and even had in mind put a note. However, in the end they were in the Top-10 with the counting system they were using for the public vote that year so the most logical thing to me is to include them.

Seeing the list of these entries makes me sad and a proof that juries are just destroying ESC, some of these entries deserved final far more than some wailing or dated cheese the juries put in the final instead :(

::se 2010, ::fi 2010, ::nl 2012, ::bg 2012, ::me 2013, ::bg 2013 and ::hr 2013 all deserved to be in final!

I suppose the only ones that can be considered are the 10th places that would have qualified with televote. Otherwise we'd have to put every single song from the semi-finals of 2008 and 2009, since the same you argued for Poland can be argued for any of the others.

I'd just take ::hr 2013, and maybe ::bg 2012 out of that list.
I liked ::bg 2012, but the performance was a bit too boring.It's just strange a song in that style being presented with only one singer.

Exactly. Although he probably meant only those that scored higher than the 'jury' qualifier of their semi. But as Poland placed 12th, phone voters obviously did not want it to qualify so it can't be included here.

It's simple. Entries that would of qualified without any form of 'jury' involvement.

Sofi Marinova was one of my favourites (2nd fave behind Pastora) in 2012! ::bg should have replaced ::no even though Tooji was incredibly attractive to me his song was horrible

Well, I first and foremost judge the songs (although I agree that Sofi's performance was lame and didn't fit the song, although it was vocally good), but in terms of songs it deserved the final more than some others for sure.

Well I seriously think 2010 “Työlki Ellää” (Finland) is the best of the above list, it's a diabolical shame that failed to reach the 2010 final. If I had to give a second place choice, I'd say 2013 “Mižerja” (Croatia); that should have been in this year's Grand Final as it was a really well sung soothing ballad (or as I see it, an adult kids' version of the CBeebies Goodnight Song).

If you asked me to choose the worst of the above list, I'd go for 2013 “Igranka” (Montenegro). Thank heavens that failed to reach the 2013 final, as I've said already, it would have been a disgrace to the 2013 final had it qualified. At least the juries had the sense to weed that out at the semi-final stage; it didn't even belong in the semi-final really. As far as I'm concerned, I'm appalled and disgusted that Montenegro chose that mish-mash of rap and dubstep to represent their country.

Each to their own, I'm on the other disgusted when dated cheese like Georgia and Russia gets jury support and not something that is actually from this part of the century...

The choice is difficult, as so many good songs have been left out (though on the contrary, many good songs have scored better because of juries as well).

Igranka was one of the top three songs of 2013, but Eastern European Funk as a song is just brilliant. The issue is that Eastern European Funk had a terrible stage performance, whereas Igranka's worked, even if it certainly was far from perfect.
I haven't voted yet, as the decision... well, you can only pick one.:?

I voted for ::ch 2012. My second favorite behind Cyprus back in Baku and I was very, very disappointed when it didn´t reach the final.
But there are many good songs in the list above.

I like most of these, but my top picks are:

1st - ::me 2013
2nd - ::bg 2012
3rd - ::fi 2010
4th - ::ch 2012
5th - ::nl 2012
6th - ::lt 2010

I've taken into account both performances and songs, otherwise songs like ::am 2011, ::by 2011, ::tr 2011 & ::bg 2013 woulda been also up there.

Agree one could read it either way but I'm sure you are the only that did. :) Question might'f been more precisely: 'Best entry that got eliminated by the jury?'

Question might'f been more precisely: 'Best entry that got eliminated by the jury?'

It's still ambiguous :?

It should've been: "Most unfair jury-eliminated entry" or "Which entry didn't deserve to be eliminated by the jury".

^ But the poll is supposed to reflect our personal tastes and not to judge the jury's verdicts which are based on different criteria.

I really, really cannot decide between Cipela, Työlki Ellää, Eastern European Funk, Live It Up, Unbreakable, Igranka and You And Me (the Swiss one). The eliminations of these songs are among the biggest Eurovision injustices of all time.

But then again, I love to see ::se 2010 in that list :twisted:

To be honest i lost a bit my craziness about eurovision where i was to the point of almost give the ranking and points of each events .

So i had to check because everyone of this murders had to be put back in context.

Sweden 2010 was a good song but so were Cyprus, Ireland and Israel that year. Still Ireland should have bite the dust for me. The magic of numbers, one song got 64 and 78 points and got screwed by songs who had less points overall by far than them.

Finland 2010 is a total mystery .

I thought Croatia 2013 was good, but with surefire high points from Montenegro, Serbia, Austria and Slovenia, was it really unfair for Moldova who had a really good song and not so much friends to pass them with the jury help ?

I hate Montenegro 2013 but obviously the people choice was really not followed here
