Finnish broadcaster YLE has announced the rules for the upcoming edition of their selection process, Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, and that the final of the program will take place much later in the year than previously, in March 2015.

The application process for songwriters and artists to send in their artists will begin on 1st September 2015 at 12am CET and will cease a week later. The rules set out by the broadcaster state that at least one member of the songwriting team must hold Finnish citizenship but that there is no restriction on the languages entries can be sung in.

If you are an aspiring Finnish songwriter interested in UMK 2015 you can read the rules here.

Finland were represented in Eurovision 2014 by the indie-rock group Softengine, who finished in 11th place with “Something Better”. Softengine recently released their follow-up single “Yellow House” and are embarking on a summer tour in Finland.
