We are also expecting returns from Sweden and France, confirmations from Serbia and Montenegro and a special invatition could be sent to Australia. That would bring the number of contestants to 18. Last time that happened in 2004.
Israel will again use Rising Star to select their representative, but the song will be picked later, just like in 2015. The show will start in January and consist of 10 episodes.
