Five Eesti Laul semifinalists have made it through to the Estonian national selection’s grand final on 1 March. The five acts that made it through are:
- Tanja – “Amazing”
- Wilhelm – “Resignal”
- Super Hot Cosmos Blues Band – “Maybe-Maybe”
- Kõrsikud – “Tule ja jää”
- Lenna – “Supernoova”
The finalists, decided on via a combination of jury and televotes, are one step closer to representing Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen.
The five acts that did not qualify are:
- The Titles – “Flame”
- State of Zoe – “Solina”
- NimmerSchmidt – “Sandra”
- Vöörad – “Maailm on Hull”
- August Hunt – “Kus on EXIT?”
Tonight’s incredibly interesting show was hosted by Helen Sürje and Henrik Kalmet, with humorous commentary from Winny Puhh frontman Indrek Vaheoja and Peeter Oja, who we remember from “Leto svet”, Estonia’s performance in Eurovision 2008.
The second semifinal will be held on 21 February, where ten more acts will vie for five spots in the final.
All the performances from tonight’s show, including the rather disturbing clown interval act, can be watched on ERR’s Eesti Laul 2014 YouTube Playlist.
