Today we took some time to chat with Czech representavive, Gabriela Gunčíková, who will sing a strong, emotional ballad I Stand.
Hello Gabriela, thank you so much for taking some time to talk with us. You will be the fifth representative of the Czech Republic, but many fans say that I Stand is the best song your country has sent. How do you feel knowing that?
I feel very very pleased by that and it makes me really happy. I am very excited to sing the song on the stage in Stockholm live and make my fans to enjoy the moment and feel it.
Since people from the Czech television have attened the delegations meeting and learned about the arena and stage, have you started to think about your performance?
Oh yes, of course. It is extremely important for me to make it right and very beautiful. So we are working on it right now and also when we are in Stockholm in May.
Do you plan to visit other countries to promote your entry?
The truth is that I am very busy during the meantime before the Eurovision Song Contest starts. I have a tour around Germany but I have definitely decided to choose some countries and go there to show and promote my song. It has been written for a mankind so I would love to share the song with many people as possible. 🙂
What do you expect to gain out of Eurovision?
I expect to get a new experience, to perform in front of milions of people. It must be a great adrenaline. 😀 Also to meet new people, new cultures and their habbits. It is exciting.
Have you heard some of the other songs from this years contest? What is your favorite?
Yes, I heard all of them and some of them are very special and really good songs. Great pieces of work- inspirational. I will keep my favorite for myself. 🙂
In the end, can you reveal to our readers something about you, that not many people know?
When I was a child I wished that one day I am the representetive of Czech Republic so here we go. 🙂
