Tonight kicks off the Benidorm Fest 2024, the national selection that RTVE uses to choose its candidate for Eurovision 2024. The first semi-final will be broadcast here from 22:45 CET. Here is a guide with all the information, including the running order of each semi-final, what the stage looks like, the hosts, the voting system and the jury composition.

Running order
The running order for both semi-finals is as follows:

Semi-final 1 – 30 January:

1. Lérica – Astronauta
2. Noan – Te echo de menos
3. Sofia Coll – HERE TO STAY
4. Mantra – Me vas a ver
5. Miss Caffeina – Bla, bla, bla
6. Quique Niza – Prisionero
7. Angy Fernández – Sé quién soy
8. Nebulossa – ZORRA

Semi-final 2 – 1st February:

1. María Peláe – Remitente
2. Dellacruz – Beso en la mañana
3. MARLENA – Amor de verano
4. st. Pedro – Dos extraños (Cuarteto de cuerda)
5. Jorge González – Caliente
6. Yoly Saa – No se me olvida
7. Roger Padrós – El Temps
8. Almácor – Brillos platino

Stage

The main stage of the Benidorm Fest is made up of three sections: the main stage, the catwalk, and a small circular stage. The main stage is rectangular and spans an area of 360 square metres. It features six rotating high-resolution LED screens as well as a set of fixed screens. The stage also has entrances that are operated by manually-guided and counterbalanced mechanical carriages. These carriages create openings for the movement of scenographic elements from backstage to the centre of the stage. Overall, the stage design allows for dynamic and visually appealing performances at the Benidorm Fest.

Hosts

Ruth Lorenzo, Marc Calderó and Ana Pradas will be the presenters of Benidorm Fest 2024. Ruth and Marc will be the hosts in the main stage show, while Ana will be the Green Room presenter.

Ruth Lorenzo is well known in the Eurovision world for having represented Spain at Eurovision 2014 with “Dancing in the Rain”, finishing in a creditable tenth position.
Marc Calderó and Ana Pradas are RTVE presenters.

Jurors

A total of eight jurors will decide 50% of the results in each show. The composition of the jury has changed this year compared to last year, with four Spanish jurors and four international jurors.

The national jurors are:

  •  Beatriz Luengo (singer, Head of Jury).
  •  Guille Milkway (producer and lead singer of the band La Casa Azul)
  •  Ángela Carrasco (singer)
  •  Carlos Baute (singer)-

The international jurors are:

  • Lee Smithurst ( Head of the British Delegation)
  • David Tserunyan ( Head of the Armenian delegation)
  • Marta Piekarska( Head of the Polish Delegation )
  • Nicoline Refsing (Artistic Director of Eurovision 2014 and for Spain in Eurovision junior 2019)

Voting System

The voting system for Benidorm Fest 2024 consists of three components.

The professional jury, composed of eight members (four national and four international), will publicly vote in the live show through the head of the jury, and their votes will account for 50% of the final result. Each jury member will assign points to the candidates based on their ranking.

The demoscopic vote, consisting of 350 people representing all demographics of the Spanish society, will also be announced. The demoscopic vote will contribute 25% towards the final result.

Finally, the public vote will be determined through phone calls and SMS. The public vote will determine the last 25% of the final result.
