We will know next week who Georgia’s representative at Junior Eurovision 2023 in Nice, France will be, but the makers of Ranina didn’t narrow down the options in today’s Semi-Finals and progressed all five young hopefuls through to next week’s Final.

All five Semi-Finalists Anastasia Vasadze, Tako Tomashvili, Soso Chachua, Anastasia Berishvili and Gabriel Lomsadze remain in contention after today’s Semi-Final of Ranina, the children’s singing show that Georgia has used to select its artist for Junior Eurovision the past six years.

Next week will see the selection of Georgia’s representative in France, and will also provide more details about the composition. The song’s composer, usually selected internally and more often than not Giorgi Kukhianidze, the three time Junior Eurovision winning composer for Georgia who just made his debut in the adult version of the contest with Iru’s “Echo,” is often revealed shortly after the contest.

Tune in at 22:00 Georgian time (20:00 CET and 19:00 GMT) on Saturday, June 10, 2023, to find out which of these impressive five youngsters is the victor.

This week’s judging panel was comprised of Sopho Toroshelidze, the lead vocalist of Eurovision 2011 ninth-placed group Eldrine who was also a coach on this season’s The Voice of Georgia which picked Iru Kchechanov for Eurovision 2023, and famed Georgian jazz singers Buka Kartozia and Nato Metonidze.

Last year’s winner Mariam Bigvava posted Georgia’s best result since 2017 and in the Ranina era by coming in 3rd with “I Believe.” Georgia came in 2nd with the Jury vote, though 12th with the online vote.

Georgia holds the most Junior Eurovision wins, having taken the trophy in 2008, 2011, and 2016.
