Today the Swiss broadcasters SRF, RTS, RSI and RTR revealed the details regarding their 2015 national final. After a successful participation in 2013, Switzerland will stick to their selection method next year.
Stage 1
Just like in the previous years, an internet voting will be organised by the German-speaking broadcaster SRF. Entries can be submitted from 29 September until 27 October. Once again, anyone can take part regardless of their nationality – that means non-Swiss artists are free to enter the selection as well. In November there will be a public online voting with each voter being able to distribute 4 points. A jury will be responsible for the other 50% of the results. 9 acts will qualify to the next stage.
The other broadcasters RTS and RSI (French and Italian language) will respectively pick 6 and 3 songs according to their own criteria.
Stage 2
9 acts from SRF, 6 from RTS and 3 from RSI will perform their song live at a so-called “expert check”. It is likely to take place on 7 December in Zürich. A jury will pick 3 songs from SRF, 2 from RTS and 1 from RSI to compete at the eventual national final.
Stage 3
The live show is expected to take place on 31 January in Kreuzlingen. The 6 qualified acts will perform both their own entry and a cover version of another song. The final result will be made up of 50% televoting and 50% jury ranking.
This year Switzerland was represented by Sebalter with his song “Hunter of Stars”. He managed to achieve a respectable 13th place in the final.
