The preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 are already running at full blast. As previously reported, the Austrian broadcaster ORF set up the core team which, among others, includes the executive producer and the technical manager. Today it was announced that ORF nominated a team of professionals which is responsible for contributing to the creative aspects of the show.

The creative team is made up of the following people:

Stefan Ruzowitzky: A renowned director and screenwriter. In 2008, his work “The Counterfeiters” received the Oscar for the best foreign language film.

Ursula Strauss: An actress who has appeared in a large number of Austrian films and series. Together with Stefan Ruzowitzky, she’s the president of the Academy of Austrian films.

André Heller: An all-round talent. He is known for being a musician, writer, poet, songwriter and actor. Additionally, he is experienced in organising large events, performances and art installations.

Elisabeth Scharang: The second film director in the team. She also works as a host at the radio stations FM4 and Ö1 and runs discussions in the ORF show Club 2.

ORF programme director Kathi Zechner pointed out that she wants to organise “a show that makes Austria proud”. The direction ORF is heading for is already clear: Stereotypes à la “Sound of Music” and lederhosen will be avoided  – instead, the emphasis will be put on the diversity and open-mindedness of Austria in order to promote a more modern image of the country.
