Last month Spanish broadcaster TVE announced the shortlist with the five entrants in this year’s national final – “Mira quién va a Eurovisión”. Here is a list with the five interpreters and their songs along with an English translation for each. In addition, we added the poll results showing you who you think should win tonight:

Brequette – Más (Run) / More (Run) (52%)

La Dama – Estrella fugaz (Falling Star) (2%)

Ruth Lorenzo – Dancing in the rain (33%)

Raúl – Seguir sin tí (To go on without you) (3%)

Jorge González – Aunque se acabe el mundo (Even if the world ends) (10%)

South-African born Brequette Cassie will be the first to perform in tonight’s show.  She shot to fame in La Voz (Spanish version of The Voice) and counts with a big fan base among Eurovision lovers for her stunning vocals and eye-catching stage presence. In recent declarations she has also stated that she would feel herself “honoured” to represent Spain in Copenhagen. Her entry – Más (Run) – is a powerfull ballad that builds progressively to a spectacular end where she displays her wonderful singing abilities. The song was written and composed by Tony Sánchez and Thomas G:son – who were behind Pastora Soler’s success in Baku with “Quédate Conmigo” (Spain 2012). Brequette is set to give her all in tonight’s show and she is certainly one of the strongest contenders in the Eurovision race.

La Dama will defend “Estrella Fugaz” (Falling Star), an up-tempo song with an R&B touch which mixes well with the electronic vibe of the tune.  Estrella fugaz was penned by famous Spanish pop star – Melendi – who happens to be La Dama’s husband, too. After today’s rehearsals, she feels much more confident on stage and is now ready to conquer the Spanish audience.

This year’s hot favourite is the stunning Ruth Lorenzo who shot to fame in the 2008 edition of the British X Factor. Back then she ranked fifth but now she is going for gold with her self-penned track “Dancing in the rain”. Prior to the national final, Lorenzo was an unknown singer in Spain but she is now enjoying fame and recognition in home soil as she is currently topping the iTunes Spain charts with her Eurovision entry. She was also offered the chance to represent the UK but she turned it down alleging that “Spain is my (her) home”. The press has typed her as the potential winner in tonight’s show. What we are sure of is she is going to put up a spectacular performance.

Jorge González makes us dance to the rhytm of “Aunque se acabe el mundo” (Even if the world ends) which many see as a potential summer hit.  González is a popular name with Spanish audiences as he competed in the Spanish version of Idols (Operación Triunfo) and The Voice (La Voz). During the dress rehearsal we got to see his choreography and infectious energy on stage as he seemed to be at ease at every moment.

Last but not least, there is Seguir sin tí (To go on without you), Raúl’s bid for Mira quién va a Eurovisión.  Following an interview during the official press conference, the singer had declared that his entry would rather be rather classified as an “adult” pop song. In today’s rehearsals he delivered a convincing rendition of his powerful ballad, which is not surprising in him. His career spans more than a decade – he even tried to represent Spain at the 2001 edition and would go on to top the charts with “Sueño su Boca”
