costee, the third act revealed to be competing in this year’s UMK 2025, has released the song and music video for his entry, “Sekaisin.” Written by Jussi Tiainen (costee), Teemu Javanainen, and Tomi Tamminen, costee combines pop with traditional Finnish rock vocals to create a dark, yet hopeful song.
costee, whose real name is Jussi Tiainen, has had a quick rise to Finnish fame. After signing with Etenee Records in 2018, he has received many accolades including being chosen as one of YleX’s breakthrough artists in 2019, being nominated for newcomer of the year and audience favorite at the Emma Gala, and founding his own record company, Tuhma Music.
costee wants to create a unique environment for his performance, saying that he “wants to be a mysterious performer, creating darkness on the stage that contrasts with strong lights.”
The remaining six acts competing in UMK 2025 have already been revealed, with each song and music video being released individually through January 16th.
Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2025 (UMK 2025) will take place on February 8th at the Nokia Arena in Tampere. The show will be hosted by Mikko Silvennoinen, Eva Frantz, Jasmin Beloued, Katri Norrlin, and Sanni.
The winner of UMK 2025 will represent Finland at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Basel, Switzerland, this May.
