Neea River, the first act revealed to be competing in this year’s UMK 2025, has released the song and music video for her entry, “Nightmares.” Written by Neea River, Ilkka Wirtanen, and Petri Alanko, this dance-pop banger carries a powerful message: no situation is ever permanent.

River, an accomplished songwriter with both domestic and international hits, is thrilled to showcase her voice on this stage. She describes herself as a “pop machine” with a “suit of pop armour that is full of power.”

The remaining six acts competing in UMK 2025 have already been revealed, with each song and music video being released individually through January 16th.

Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2025 (UMK 2025) will take place on February 8th at the Nokia Arena in Tampere. The show will be hosted by Mikko Silvennoinen, Eva Frantz, Jasmin Beloued, Katri Norrlin, and Sanni.

The winner of UMK 2025 will represent Finland at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Basel, Switzerland, this May.
