Another three countries have completed their first rehearsals on the Malmo stage – Lithuania, Ireland, and Ukraine.
Let’s look at how their rehearsals went today!
Lithuania 🇱🇹 – Silvester Belt takes us to the club

Following his win at the Lithuanian national selection, Silvester and the delegation promised that the performance of “Luktelk” would only be “elevated” but not changed. And according to the released rehearsal footage that is exactly what they have done.
The biggest change that has been made is in the dancer’s outfits, opting to add full hoods and black shirts piped with reflective material, and white pants. Silvester’s outfit remains the same leather-like red pantsuit that he wore in the national selection.
One additional change has been spotted during set-up, it appears that the blue hand motif from the bridge will also make an appearance on the LED floor rather than the backdrop. The choreography from the post bridge breakdown remains as well.
Ireland 🇮🇪 – Bambie Thug casts a spell on Malmo rehearsals

Bambie Thug has officially taken to the Malmo stage, and in no surprise their staging concept mirrors the artistic direction that the music video portrayed.
Bambie is dressed in a black corset dress made of tulle strips and a tutu-like skirt complete with black ballet flats that wrap all the way up to the knees. The outfit is also adorned with horns on the shoulders which compliment the horns on Bambie’s head.
The rehearsal footage doesn’t reveal much about Ireland’s plan, although we are able to notice a few details. On the stage is a wooden ring embossed with ancient symbols like the trinity knot and the triskelion, and the runic alphabet F (Fehu) meaning cattle and wealth, and D (Dagaz) meaning day or dawn. Fans will also notice the triskelion symbol placed on Bambie’s forehead.
On top the ring are a number of electric candles that tell the story of Bambie’s magic, turning on and off as they wave their arms. Bambie is also joined on stage by a dancer who appears to be having the incantation cast upon him, and then is used by Bambie during the whimsical chorus to strike an elegant ballerina pose.
The stage noticeably switches from it’s dark nature to hues of pink and blue, also showcasing the blue moon from the music video.
Ukraine 🇺🇦 – alyona alyona and Jerry Heil impress visually on stage

Another country that has taken a sharp turn from their national selection staging is alyona alyona and Jerry Heil, who have now chosen to adopt a staging filled with bright white and silver colors.
Another rock formation has appeared as well, on which Jerry appears on top. She now is clothed in a cloak that comes off during the opening verse, and reveals a tattered dress equipped with a metalic shoulder piece.
Alyona alyona dons a silver cloak and pants with texture prevalent throughout, and at some point during the performance we noticed that a chain-mail like piece of fabric seems to reveal on her outfit. Gone is the image of a woman draped in cloth on the LED, now replaced images of people passing behind a backlit cloth curtain during the wrap section, and red embers falling behind Jerry.
The staging utilizes a very apparent juxtaposition between the verses and choruses that feature hues of orange, red, yellow, and white, and the rap which is only white and black.
Two more countries are set to take to the stage for rehearsals – Poland and Croatia. We’ll be back soon to cover their first rehearsals so stay tuned!
