News about the song selection process of Cyprus in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest

PANIK Records has confirmed that it will now work with CyBC on a selection process in 2024 after initially deciding to collaborate on a televised selection for Eurovision 2023.

Giorgos Arsenakos revealed yesterday in an interview with STAR revealed:

“We have agreed with the state channel of Cyprus to do a talent show, the winner of which will represent Cyprus in the 2024 Eurovision contest.”

According to reports from earlier this year, CyBC had planned to select their Eurovision 2023 artist through the hit show “All Together Now”, but instead opted to internally select Andrew Lambrou. Lambrou competed in Eurovision 2022: Australia Decides earlier this year and came seventh with the song Electrify.

Last year it was Andromache’s turn to represent the nation and sing Ela for Europe. Unfortunately it didn’t “take their breathe away” and the song failed to qualify to the final.

How do #YOU feel about this decision? Will it help and bring Cyprus back in the final? Let us know in the comments below, on social media, or in our forum.
