In a night full of lightning, glory notes, bejeweled sneakers, and mechanical bulls, the most shocking moments came from the reveal of semi 2’s results.
In all 18 acts competed during tonight’s show, hoping to secure slots in Saturday’s Grand Final. They were:

Tonight’s results ended nearly decade-long qualification streaks for both Israel and Cyprus, but they returned Romania to the Grand Final for the first time since 2017. Among the other acts left behind are San Marino’s Achille Lauro, Ireland’s Brooke Scullion, and Georgia’s Circus Mircus.
During the show’s interval, audiences were treated to a duet by two of this year’s hosts (Mika and Laura Pausini) and a performance by hometown heroes and Eurovision 2015 3rd place finishers Il Volo. (Gianluca Ginoble, one of the three members of Il Volo, joined remotely from home after a positive Covid test earlier today.) Big 5 auto-qualifiers Malik Harris of Germany, Chanel of Spain, and Sam Ryder of The UK also appeared on stage to tease their Grand Final performances.
Earlier this week, ESC United readers voted for who #YOU thought would make it into Saturday’s Grand Final from this batch of songs. As with semi 1, #YOU predicted eight out of 10 correctly, with Romania and Belgium replacing San Marino and Cyprus.
Saturday’s Grand Final will feature the return of reigning champions Måneskin to the Eurovision stage, including the first televised performance of the quartet’s new, Max Martin-produced single “Supermodel”. Also performing will be 1964 Eurovision champion (and co-host of the 1991 contest) Gigliola Cinquetti. Until then, stay tuned to ESC United’s YouTube channel for our coverage on the ground in Turin.
