Romania will start their semi-final this Sunday. 15 acts will compete against each other and only 10 will make to the final which is scheduled for Sunday 5th March. Mihai Traistariu, former Romanian representative from 2006, is back and today he has spoken to us about his entry “I won’t Surrender”

Hello Mihai

First of all thank you for your time talking to us. How are you ? Can you introduce yourselves ? What can you tell us about yourself?

Hi everyone …

I started my career at when I was 19 in a boyband called Valahia. After 4 years of success,I started a solo career as Mihai Traistariu.

5 times number  one hit on the radio, 3 times best male voice in Romania, more than 6000 concerts in 18 years …

Your song that you will be presenting for the national final in Romania is “I won’t surrender” . What can you tell us about the song?

It was written  by Michael James Down ( UK), Primoz Poglajen ( Slovenia ) and Niklas Hast ( Sweden ).

It fits perfectly with my voice ! This song is a show itself !

What was the inspiration for the song, and did you write it specifically for the national final in Romania and Eurovision?Yes, it was written specifically for the Eurovision ! I really want to win this contest one day ! That’s why I’m here again ! 🙂

What is your impression of the Eurovision Song Contest in general? Do you watch it every year? What is your favourite entry?

I love Eurovision since my childwood ! If I’m in a concert … I stay in hotel room and watch ESC instead of having a party or … going outside . My favourite entry ever is ” Euphoria ” !

Apart from the Eurovision Song Contest , where would you dream to do a performance?

In America … or having a duet  with some international artists …

Has being on tv made you more self-conscious?

Yes. I changed a lot. Show-biz changed me !

What ís the best bit of advice you have ever been given?

Not to listen everyone. To do … anything I want … anytime … anywhere …

What’s your biggest fear?

I don’t have any fear now

Where would we find you on a typical Sunday Afternoon?

Every Sunday I teach my students … singing. I have my own CANTO SCHOOL …

What is a typical day like for you?

Gym, Facebook, instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, E-mail, fans, Phone, reahearsals, music studio, sometimes movies, cinema, friends.
