The German national final Unser Song für Österreich just ended with a bang! Andreas Kümmert won the preselection with the Song Heart of Stone after three rounds of voting. However, after having being announced as the winner, he announced that he declines and doesn’t want to go to Vienna. Therefore the runner-up Ann Sophie has been declared as the winner.
In the first round all 8 artists performed their first song. The top 4 (in bold) proceeded to the next round where they could present a second song.
Round 1
1. Mrs. Greenbird – “Shine Shine Shine”
2. Alexa Feser – “Glück”
3. Faun – “Hörst du die Trommeln”
4. Noize Generation “A Song For You”
5. Ann Sophie – “Jump the Gun”
6. Fahrenhaidt – “Frozen Silence”
7. Laing – “Zeig deine Muskeln”
8. Andreas Kümmert – “Home is in my Hands”
In the second round the four artists that qualified performed their second song. Out of all eight songs of the remaining artists, two proceeded to the superfinal.
Round 2
1. Alexa Feser – “Das Gold von Morgen”
2. Ann Sophie – “Black Smoke”
3. Laing – “Wechselt die Beleuchtung”
4. Andreas Kümmert – “Heart of Stone”
Round 3 – Super final
1. Ann Sophie – Black Smoke
2. Andreas Kümmert – Heart of Stone – declined
