The Austrian preselection Wer singt für Österreich? is finally about to kick off! The first out of four shows will air tonight at 20.15 CET. You’ll be able to stream the show HERE.

Tonight 16 acts will compete with songs that won’t end up being their ESC entries in case they win. A 15-member jury will pick 6 qualifiers that will be featured in the following shows and proceed to work on their potential Eurovision songs. The coaches that will accompany the artists throughout the process will also be present: Nazar, Anna F. and The BossHoss. Tonight’s show was prerecorded back in December.

Here are the 16 artists with their first round songs:

The Makemakes – “Million Euro Smile”
Tandem – “Zeig ihn mir”
wo/Men – “Happy” (Pharrell Williams cover)
Royal Kombo – “Ram Pam Pam”
Clara Blume – “Love & Starve”
The Su’sis – “This and That”
Kathi Kallauch – “Das Leben ist zu kurz”
Johann Sebastian Bass – “Heart of Stone”
Celina Ann – “I Never Loved a Man” (Aretha Franklin cover)
Renato Unterberg – “Love”
Lemo – “So leicht”
Kommando Elefant – “Mein Design fürs Leben”
Dawa – “On the Run”
Mizgebonez – “Murmeltier” / “Fitnesstraining” (Medley)
Folkshilfe – “Seit a poa Tog”
Zoe – “Adieu”

Tonight’s 6 qualifiers will be featured in all the remaining shows until the final. In next week’s show they’ll perform 2 cover songs each. In show 3 things are getting serious – each act is presenting its 2 potential Eurovision songs – the coaches will pick which song the artists will compete with in the big final. The final will be a live show where the 6 artists will compete against each other with their chosen song. A 50/50 combination of televoting and international juries will determine the winner.

Which of these acts should make it through tonight? Make sure to join the discussion on our forum!
