Jedward, Ireland’s two-time participants in 2011 and 2012, have announced that they will not be putting a song forward for the Irish national selection for 2015, after the submission period was ‘too short to find a winning song’.
The twins, who first came to public attention during The X Factor in 2009, gave Ireland its best result in recent years, finishing 8th in the contest in 2011 and 19th in 2012. However, it appears the twins won’t be pushing for a third time lucky.
In other news, it appears that The X Factor’s own Louis Walsh has been pushing Irish participants in the competition to submit an entry for the national selection, further cementing Walsh’s interest in the competition after Jedward’s participations and Eoghan Quigg’s participation in last year’s national selection.
RTÉ are yet to announce any acts taking part in the selection for Eurovision 2015.
