Despite achieving the worst Azeri result in the country’s history in 2014, the national broadcaster of Azerbaijan, ITV, has confirmed that the Caucasian country will be present in 2015 and as a result becomes the final member of the Caucasus to confirm participation.
Azerbaijan has taken part in Eurovision every year since their debut in 2008 and finished in the top ten every year until their 22nd place in Copenhagen. Dilara Kazimova’s “Start A Fire” represented Azerbaijan in 2014 after she was chosen during the lengthy selection process Böyük Səhnə. It is currently unknown how Azerbaijan will select their representative and song for next year.
Azerbaijan is one of the most successful countries of recent times in Eurovision, having won once and hosted in the newly constructed Baku Crystal Hall in 2012.
