43 countries will take part in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest

Today the EBU announced the final list of participants. The number of countries has increased from last year’s contest, we will see 43 countries participate in the 61st Eurovision Song Contest!

The 43 countries hoping to take home the Eurovision 2016 trophy are:

Albania
Armenia
Australia
Austria
Azerbaijan
Belarus
Belgium
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bulgaria
Croatia
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Macedonia
Georgia
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Israel
Italy
Latvia
Lithuania
Malta
Moldova
Montenegro
The Netherlands
Norway
Poland
Romania
Russia
San Marino
Serbia
Slovenia
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
Ukraine
United Kingdom

Returning Countries: Ukraine, Bulgaria, Croatia, Bosnia& Herzegovina

Withdrawing Countries: Portugal

There have been some uncertainties with regards to whether Bulgaria & Croatia would return to the contest until today, whilst Bosnia & Herzegovina were uncertain until a few days ago when they confirmed. Ukraine announced early on that they would be returning.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will take place in Stockholm on the 10th, 12th and 14th of May.
