The national broadcaster RTVE has already confirmed that it would be using Operación Triunfo to select Spain’s performer and song for Lisbon, with the final five remaining in the hunt for the coveted golden ticket to the contest. The competition for Spain’s entry will be held prior to the final of Operación Triunfo. Songs will be allocated to the finalists by the teachers of the OT academy and the decision on who will represent Spain will be made through 100% televoting. The five finalists will be determined on 22nd January following that day’s gala, with the songs being revealed on the following day. Seven acts remain in the competition and leaves a youthful selection for Spain; Agoney, Ana Guerra, Aitana, Alfred, Amaia, Miriam and Roi are all 23 years of age or under.
