Today, San Marino’s national broadcaster SMRTV and the 1in360 agency in London have confirmed which artists will fight for San Marino’s ticket to Eurovision 2018, including some familiar names! Camilla North (Norway) Emma (Finland) Franklin Calleja (Malta) Giovanni Montalbano (Italy) Irol MC (San Marino) Jenifer Besky (Germany) Jessika Muscat (Malta) Judah Gavra (Israel) Sara de Blue (Austria) Sebastian Schmidt (Switzerland) Tinashe Makura (Zimbabwe) The lineup features many artists who had previously failed to represent their own nations in Eurovision. Emma was one of the fan favourites to win Finland’s Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu for Eurovision 2017 but ultimately failed to win with “Circle of Light”. Jessika Muscat is no stranger to Maltese Eurovision fans having previously tried to represent Malta each year since 2009, and Franklin Calleja had also attempted to represent Malta previously. Judah Gavra previously entered K’dam 2013 but did not win, whereas Irol MC, the only native Sanmarinese artist to be considered for selection, was granted a wildcard and announced the points for the microstate at Eurovision 2016. The 11 artists will make it to the first live round of the competition which is expected to be broadcast next month. What do #YOU think of the selection process so far? Did the right artists make it?
