Belgium is who #YOU want to win Eurovision 2017

Last month, once all of the songs for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest had been chosen, we put one very simple question to #YOU: Who did you want to win Eurovision 2017?

While it may be a question some have taken in different directions, we feel that it is an accurate barometer of how people are feeling about the songs, and with only one song chosen for each voter, it’s a powerful statement for whoever finishes top.

As the rehearsals for Eurovision in Kiev loom ever closer, we have revisited the poll, with nearly 1,500 votes cast from across the world. Thank you for your votes!

While the lead changed numerous times during the voting, it eventually became clear that only one song would triumph in our poll of polls – and in a decision that might surprise some – Belgium was the clear favourite of our readers in 2017, with nearly 20% of all of the votes cast!

The overall contest favourite and bookies’ choice Italy finished second with 13.45%, Portugal was third with around 11% and, surprisingly, Israel and Montenegro rounded off the top five in our poll. Perhaps being a divisive entry is more important?
