The return of EMA is getting closer and closer, we know the artists who will fight for the one ticket, but who will help Slovenian viewers to that? Well, earlier this week, we got that answer. Let’s get into who will the hosts are.
EMA 2025 Hosts
This year’s Slovenian national final will be hosted by a duo, with one of them being a familiar name within Eurovision-followers, the hosts being Štras and Raiven, who represented Slovenia in 2024.
Štras
Going by the name Štras, is Gregor Strasberg, who is a singer, songwriter and guitarist for the Slovenian group MRFY. The band has been active since 2013, but started to gain traction towards the end of 2016.
Regarding hosting the Slovenian national final, Štras had the following to say:
- “The thought of hosting EMA does not give me much pleasure yet, but rather stress. Half the country will probably spit on me, but fortunately they will spit on our new representative more”.
Raiven
Behind the name Raiven, we have Sara Briški Cirman, who the singer that represented Slovenia in the 2024 contest. Other than that, she has been active since 2014, which included attempts at representing Slovenia in the past as well, back in 2016, 2017 & 2019.
Raiven also has something to say, about this opportunity:
- “Hosting EMA gives me the responsibility to connect the event with people who follow it with great expectations and passion. The thought of EMA brings me a lot of nostalgia. I have experience as a performer and as a host, so above all I want EMA to be a stage where music and creativity meet without unnecessary criticism and pressure”.
The duo will take front stage on the 1st of February, which is when the national final is set to be held. Here a total of 12 acts will perform, in order to win the trip to Basel and the honor of representing Slovenia at the song contest. A special show will be held as well one week prior to the final, to be exact on the 25th of January, where the competitors will shed some light on their entries.
