In a not surprising decision, Radiotelevision of Serbia (RTS) has announced its decision to withdraw from the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled for Saturday, November 16, in Madrid, Spain.
This decision aligns with earlier remarks by Olivera Kovačević, RTS’s entertainment program Editor-in-Chief, who had hinted at the country’s likely withdrawal from the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
She highlighted the insurmountable economic challenges as the primary reason behind the likely non-participation. The financial strain of preparing for and competing in an international event of this scale can be significant, and RTS has had to make tough decisions regarding their involvement.
