In each semi-final, 10 songs will be competing and 6 songs will qualify for the Grand Final. In each semi-final, there will be a first round of vote responsible to select 5 songs, based on the results of the public and jury votes (consisting of personalities linked to the world of music, entertainment and media), in a 50/50 proportion. In the event of a tie for 5th place, the song with the highest score in the jury’s vote will qualify to the Grand Final. Later, a sixth song will be exclusively selected through the public vote. The song with the highest number of calls in this second voting period, in each semi-final, will qualify for the Grand Final.

In the Grand Final, voting will be done by televoting and through the vote of a regional jury, made up of representatives of the 5 regions of mainland Portugal and the 2 autonomous regions (Madeira and Azores), in a 50/50 proportion. In the event of a tie for 1st place, the song with the highest number of calls in the televoting will win.

Mimicat represented Portugal this year with their song “Ai Coração”. The song finished 23rd in the Grand Final with a total of 59 points.
