These 809 songs are competing for six spots in Festival da Canção 2024 as part of the open call to all performers. The other 14 songs will constitute songs by composers who received a direct invitation from the broadcaster.
The number of entries reveals a continued interest in the contest for the third year and, this time, with a new record of more than 800 songs submitted.
RTP has not yet announced the dates for the 58th edition of the Portuguese selection.
Last year, Mimicat represented Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool (United Kingdom) with the song “Ai Coração”. She finished in 23rd place in the final.
