Dora 2024 kicked off tonight in Zagreb, where the magnificent Semi-Final 1 of Dora 2024 took place.
12 acts are vying for a spot among the eight finalists who will advance to the Dora 2024 final. Hosting this year’s event are Duško Ćurlić, Maja Ciglenečki, and Anja Cerar, ensuring that the show went by seamlessly, keeping us entertained and bringing the competition back to the Croatian capital for the first time since 2011. After their lovely intro, we were ready for the show!
The show opened with Noelle’s “Baby, baby” and with the striking performance and well-done choreography, Noelle sang her heart out.
- Next up were Mario Battifiaca feat. Robert Ferlin – “Vodu piti trizan biti” with an interesting mesh of voices and an almost soothing strums of the guitar, along with an inventive performance.
- Stefany came in with “Sretnih dana dat’ će Bog” and brought a gorgeous backdrop painting a dreamy image of her song!
- Misha was next, delivering an anthemic-style performance of “One Day” and an intriguing staging, equipped with mirrors and gliterry face masks.
- Erna’s “How Do You Love Me” reminded us of the best parts of the classics, with her funky voice and vibe, draped in red light and a truly heartwarming and mellow number.
- Eugen graced us with a grovelly starry skies and a tinge of old school vibes!
- Next up, Vinko’s “Lying Eyes” gave us a moment to sit back and relax with a gorgeous ballad with nostalgia in its undertones.
- Barbara Munjas represented the invincible, girl power vibes with “Nepobjediva”!
- Last year’s Croatian representatives in Eurovision, the iconic LET 3, took the stage in an even more eccentric performance of the night! It was as colorful as you can imagine it.
- Lana Mandarić honored the Dora stage with “More”, which translates to “Nightmares”. This stunning performance involved lights, winds and strong vocals!
- Pavel came out as the penultimate act for the semi final 1 with “Do mjeseca”, a retro number delivered by this charming duo.
- Closing the semi final 1 for Dora 2024, Saša Lozar sang “Ne plačem zbog nje”, the mellow, feel-good pop number that lulled us into a feeling of comfort and safety.
VOTING: Voting was done via a public vote.
INTERVAL ACT: The magnificent Slimane was the guest performer in Dora’s Semi Final 1, starting off with “La recette”, moving on with “Des milliers de je t’aime”, delivering a heartfelt experience for all the viewers and the audience itself. Finally, he sang his song “Mon Amour” that will represent France in Eurovision 2024.
