There is not long now until the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Madrid, and host broadcaster (RTVE) is sharing more and more details with us, as we get closer. Earlier this week, it was finally presented to us, who will guide of through the blooming show, which will take place in about 2 months, and we sure are in for both a junior and eurovision treat.
Meet our JESC 2024 hosts
Ruth Lorenzo
Earlier this year, she was one of the hosts of the Spanish national final, but we best know her for her involvement in the adult contest, when it was hosted in Copenhagen, now 10 years ago. Ruth Lorenzo is back for European viewers, where she this time will guide, rather than compete, viewers through the junior contest.
She’ll be a great hosts for worldwide viewers, as she has not only toured around the UK, but also competed in X Factor, as well as live in both the UK and US. Her English skills should be more than enough to make the show a pleasure to watch.
Since 2014, where she even finished 10th with “Dancing in the Rain“, she has also been heavily involved in the Spanish Eurovision scene overall. She even has the following comment to share:
- “This is a responsibility like few others I have ever had as a presenter. I live it with the same enthusiasm, responsibility and fantasy as the young artists that will come to Madrid to share their music.“
Marc Clotet
Of course, there is also room for new faces, who are up for a new challenge, and that spot is filled by Marc Clotet. A very well experience actor, who has performed in theater, films and on television as well. Other than being an actor, he’s also a model.
Regarding the gig now as a host for the Junior contest, he had the following to share:
- “Being able to host a show like this, in front of 30 million people, in English, and to follow and support the dream of so many girls and boys from all over Europe, makes me very happy.“
Melani García
Last, but far from the least, we have Melani García who is probably the face of the long awaited return of Spain, to the junior contest. Back in 2019, Spain announced they would return to the contest, after having last participated in the competition back in 2006. Here, Melani wowed viewers to vote for her performance of her song “Marte“, who in the end finished 3rd.
Back in 2019, she was only at the age of 12, and now with some simple math, she’s now almost a full grown women at the age of 17. Despite her older age, she’s probably the one of the 3 hosts that will best understand how all the other 17 young acts will be feeling on the exciting night.
Regarding this chance to host the contest in Madrid, she had the following to say:
- “Being there and living the experience from another point of view is one of my dreams. I will take the stage as an artist but also as a Eurofan, and I will try to make sure that you enjoy the festival as much as I will.“
Not long now until we will see this trio bloom as well on stage, when the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 takes place in Madrid, Spain, on the 16th of November at 16:00 CET.
