Austria’s 2024 representative Kaleen has released her song “We Will Rave”.
Kaleen had previously released a 30-second snippet on February 23 to much excitement of the Eurovision community. Kaleen shot the music video for “We Will Rave” in Los Angeles, USA. While the music video is still not released, the track has appeared on YouTube already.
The song is an massively up beat entry, described to be a techno-inspired pop song – one that fills you with the same feels that early Eurodance tracks did in the 90s and 2000s. The entry is written by a strong Swedish team comprised of Anderz Wrethov (co-writer of “Fuego” and “Too Late for Love”), Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt (co-writer for “Tattoo” and “El Diablo”), Thomas Stengaard (co-wrote “El Diablo” and “Only Teardrops”) and Julie Aagaard (co-wrote “I Am Who I Am”).
Speaking about the song, Kaleen mentioned:
“We Will Rave‘ is my perfect Eurovision Song. It allows me to combine everything I love, and to get carried away with the audience. The song is adaptable for everyone. ‘We Will Rave’ can become We Will Dance, We Will Sing, We Will Live, We Will Party…. It is powerful and positive, even though you might be fighting through something at the moment. It’s supposed to enhance a life-loving state of mind and getting lost in a moment.
I am extremely looking forward to performing this along with the fans! Now that the song is officially out, it has become even more real to me, and I am beyond excited about the journey! Having a techno pop track is different from my discography up until now. I look forward to Kaleen’s new chapter.”
The Austrian broadcaster, ORF, internally selected Kaleen to represent the country back on 14 January 2024. At the time, the program director of ORF, Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz, stated: “With Kaleen, we are sending an artist who is versatile – she sings, she dances, she choreographs, and she is an absolute Song Contest insider. We are going to put on a big show in Malmö!“
Austria will perform in the First half of the show in the First Semi-Final on 9 May 2024.
