The Armenian broadcaster AMPTV has announced that Depi Evratesil will return for a fourth season in 2025 as Armenia’s national selection for Eurovision.
Depi Evratesil was held in 2016, 2018, and 2020. Past winners include Artsvik, who placed 18th at Eurovision 2017 with “Fly with Me,” and Sevak Khanagyan, whose song “Qami” failed to qualify for the Grand Final at Eurovision 2018. Athena Manoukian won the 2020 edition of Depi Evratesil but lost the chance to compete at Eurovision after the 2020 contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
AMPTV chose to internally select Armenia’s Eurovision entries in 2022, 2023, and 2024, after skipping the contest entirely in 2021. Armenia’s 2022 entry, “Snap” by Rosa Linn became a viral hit and remains the second-most streamed Eurovision song on Spotify, after Duncan Laurence’s 2021 winner “Arcade,” despite placing 20th in the Grand Final. The 2023 entry, “Future Lover” by Brunette, placed 14th in the Grand Final with 122 points, while last year’s entry, “Jako” by Ladaniva, placed eighth in the Grand Final with 183 points.
Armenia made its Eurovision debut in 2006. The country’s best results in the competition were in 2008 and 2014, when it came fourth in the Grand Final with the songs “Qélé, Qélé” by Sirusho and “Not Alone” by Aram Mp3 respectively.
