Without a doubt, it is by far the most anticipated national final of them all, and the most attractive show all year in Sweden. Of course we’re talking about Melodifestivalen, the national final that decides who represents Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. If you ever wish to be part of the show, well then the Swedes are doing everything in order, to give you the time for planning, cause you can already plan your Saturday nights in the winter.

Locations for Melfest 2025

The Swedish broadcaster (SVT) revealed not long ago, how many entries they had received and now shortly after, 30 of those entries will be part of this tour across 6 different cities around Sweden.

As per usual, expect the 3 largest cities to be among the listed host cities, as well as some new cities also appear. These are the following dates and locations for “Melodifestivalen 2025“.

  • First semi-final: LuleÃ¥ – February 1st
  • Second semi-final: Göteborg – February 8th
  • Third semi-final: VästerÃ¥s – February 15th
  • Fourth semi-final: Malmö – February 22nd
  • Fifth semi-final: Jönköping – March 1st
  • Grand final: Stockholm – March 1st

We’ve already been through the details, but in short, a total of 30 songs will be selected to compete in the five semi-finals, whereas 12 of them will compete in the final, in Stockholm. For a more in-depth explanation of the format of the upcoming Swedish national final, it can be found right here.

It is expected, that over the Autumn, we will learn the names and titles of the 30 acts and songs, which have been selected to compete in 2025. It is therefor also recommended, that in case there is a familiar name that you personally wish to see live at the national final, be prepared to visit any of the first 5 cities, whether it being the bigger or smaller ones. Unfortunately, the songs will not be released before we reach the time of the live shows. Of course, we will sit ready with details, when the reveal is ready to happen.
