Earlier this week, RTL revealed the finalists of the Luxembourg Song Contest !
The pre-selection process has come to an end, the judges have listened to 77 songs and called back a small number of artists on Monday to make their final decision.
The members of the international jury in charge of selecting the finalists of this year’s LSC are:
Diogo Fernandes 🇵🇹: TV Producer and Co-Executive Producer of Eurovision 2018
Poli Genova 🇧🇬: Eurovision contestant in 2011, 2016 and JESC 2015 Host
Niamh Kavanagh 🇮🇪: Winner of Eurovision 1993
Marie Myriam 🇫🇷: Winner of Eurovision 1977
Eldar Gasimov 🇦🇿: Winner of Eurovision 2011
The Luxembourgish broadcaster then announced the finalists of the 2nd edition of the Luxembourg Song Contest:
- Laura Thorn
She was the first artist to be announced, she has a master’s degree in music theory, music pedagogy and pop singing. Laura Thorn currently teaches at the Esch sur Alzette music conservatory. - One Last Time
They are the first comeback act to be announced. The pop-rock band consists of 5 members: Andrea Galleti, Jonathan Fersino, Tom Sagramola, Alessandro Sorbello and Barbara Salvi. The band grew in popularity with their participation in the first edition of the LSC, after releasing their first EP called “Second Wind” in 2022 they are planning to release their debut album later in 2025. - Luzac
After training as an educator, Luzac decided to follow his passion for music, first writing and composing for other artists and later releasing his debut single “J’y arriverai” in 2021. The urban pop artist has since decided to focus on his own music and now makes his LSC debut. - Rhythmic Soulwave
The group is made up of 6 musicians from different backgrounds who met at the Luxembourg Conservatory, they are: Mael Fontana, Leopold Strauβ, Angela Aguilera Caballero, Diego Lucero, Zakar Lörinc and Carmen Carbonnell Suarez. Rhythmic Soulwave is influenced by various musical genres such as jazz, Latin American music, classical traditions and pop-rock. - MÄNA
She studies at the Regional School of Music in Dudelange and plays the flute in an orchestra. She is a new talent in the Luxembourgish music scene and released her debut single “Stay” in 2023. - Rafa Ela
She is the second returning act in the LSC, she participated last year with Angy, but will go solo in this edition. She is known in Luxembourg for her participation in “Luxembourg’s Next Popstar” in 2016 and “Top Voice Luxembourg” in 2018 in addition to her participation in the national selection last year. - ZERO POINT FIVE
The last finalists announced by RTL are a popular Luxembourgish band that regularly plays concerts and festivals. Formed in 2009, ZERO POINT FIVE is composed of 3 members, Federico (Kiko) Menichetti, Gilles Saracini, and Christophe Reitz, in their music they blend pop, folk and country.
The Luxembourg Song Contest will take place on January 25th at the Rockhal in Belval, Esch sur Alzette.
Information about ticket sales will be announced later.
The winner will have the chance to represent the Grand Duchy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.
Tali won the first edition of the national selection and represented Luxembourg at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Fighter”, she qualified for the Grand Final and finished in 13th place with 103 points.
